I got 2 32g 3g's with case, dock, vga adapters, and extended warranty for a bit under 2k.

With only 32g of storage it will be hard to stack up on series/movies. I only thought of buying one because of the design and would be nice to have it as a media player when I was on the road etc Only thing that would work great on it is surfing, and that you can do from your PC at home ?

better rush out and get the unlimited data plan before at&t changes it within the next few days. Word is they are going to cap the top plan to 2gigs a month, which I would blow through in a week.

As for it being a "fail", that's in the eye of the beholder. I enjoy it and I can't pry it off the Mrs. She takes it to work and does her email/facebook/shit like that. We've worked hard to be able to enjoy such frivolity so, quite frankly, the opinion of some person on the net doesn't mean dick. If she's happy I'm happy, the cost is an insignificant matter.

Bought a new keyboard because I couldn't be arsed to clean my old one. It does the job, but I'm not a huge fan of the placement of the 'End' key, as I use it all the time and am now going to have to retrain myself as to where it is. Otherwise, the keys are nice and responsive and there is plenty of travel in them; my biggest problem with newer keyboards is that they tend to be very flat, but this one is okay.

So yes, no more risk of death from the ecosystem inside my keyboard for me!

The iPad is a lot more compact than a laptop, even a netbook. While it may be crappy at certain things, it does the things she wanted it for very well. Besides the communications stuff (email/internet/im's), she's a crna and uses tons of reference materials than can now be pulled right up on the iPad rather than having to wheel around the computer stand or paging through a million books. Seems like every doctor and nurse at the hospital is toting around an iPad now. They're a useful tool, in a small package, for a reasonable price.

If you want to watch HD movies and edit video, do it on a hdtv and a desktop pc.
