I've had the phone for about 6 months and think it's great.

I don't agree with using the Opera Mini browser though, I tried it and didn't like it, the default one is really good (executes complex JS a fucking tonne faster than IE can, no kidding) and supports Flash. Also, I'd recommend using Google's Maps app over Ovi's. I'm glad to hear it survived being dropped in water, I've never dropped mine very far but I know someone who got the phone before me and dropped it on the floor and it cracked the screen and broke entirely. Beware the wrist-strap as mine broke after about 3 months (of quite rigourous use), luckily I was holding it when it broke.

What kind of video are you guys watching on it? Just the regular low(er) quality rips? Or are you re-encoding them to fit the phone better? And when do you do it anyway?

The thing with Google maps is that is has no offline mode and I don't have an unlimited data plan, If I had one I'd be using Google maps for sure.

As for videos I tested converting tv shows -350MB in size- with SUPER but the output file was 480MB and it took like 20+mins to convert the file from xvid to mp4 (I have a Q9550) and I also tried Bigasoft MP4 Converter and the output was even bigger -500MB- but it only took like 7 minutes to process the file, so I don't know what am I doing wrong or if that's the way things should be, I don't know. I'm currently looking for a solution since I'm not a video expert.

@beblebox: That was one of the 1st thing I changed in my phone, along with the alarm tone...:-P.

Btw, any recommendation for sites to get apps other than the ovi store? Something like this but for symbian phones (got that link from here). TiA.

Nice, I never understood why people buy lame ass wallets. (cheap leather) It's something you use pretty much every day.

I bought my cheap lame ass wallet because I wanted to have something left to put in it.

Thank you for supporting our local economy slacker4life.

lol yea nearly every sales person there shook my hand after i paid cash for this thing.  sounds like they are having a hard time getting new shit off the lot, especially trucks.  the one thing the chick that sold me the truck said they weren't having a problem selling was new camaros.  i told her that she must be getting a steady flow of old white men then.  she replied, in more ways then one... i thought that was pretty damn funny.

swiss army blades are too small for cutting thick rope or ties downs and a range of other tasks, blades are to weak to pry with and they don't lock which can be quite dangerous for your fingers as any wrong movement can close the blade back on your hand.  also my hands are pretty fucking big, not to mention me, the knife seems pretty average to me...  fits nicely clipped onto my pant's pocket loop

my old knife lasted a solid two years before it broke, was trying to pry out a lock clip on one of my friends trailer accessories and the last inch broke off.

lol is this any better now?  if it's stilla  murder weapon i don't know what to tell ya, i can kill someone with a pen just as easily.

$300ish with tax.

and yea i lost my leatherman at my old uni.....  it fell out of one of the pockets on my bag..... man was i pissed $110 knife gone when i had practically no money to replace it, it was an awesome knife though, multi-tool that had strong steel and lockable pieces.  i found that i would just go to my toolboxes in my trunk or something if i needed more than a knife blade though so i've just gotten a knife since then.
