Yeah we have a lot of fish here. But not all of us eat it tough.

Just bought a new comfy gaming chair.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2X1EvHYvxY

Really nice and comfy with a pretty decent soundsystem built into it, not the best aor anything to cheer about, but definitely better than the regular crap from the TV.

All I see is that one's a driving game, rest is not.

I'm thinking the target audience for Madagascar 2 isn't the same as for the other games (except LBP 2, but that has a pretty broad audience).

Six, 4port usb hubs from china. Making a 20port hub of them, if I manage.

#1434832 by TekSomniaKDonor (Power User) at 2011-10-12 23:33:14 (1 year ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

Unless each of those hubs is powered by something other than USB I think you're gonna run into problems.

#1435011 by Angelitta (Power User) at 2011-10-13 21:19:08 (1 year ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

Yeah, it looks like they're dumb devices, taking 500mA and splitting it to 4 usb ports...

You could use one or several of these or something similar :

http://search.digikey.com/us/en/product … -ND/363556

The one above takes anything up to about 25v  and generates 5v, up to around 6.5 amps when powered from 10-12v - that would be enough for ~ 12 usb ports at maximum load, which usually doesn't happen with keyboards and mice, so it would probably be enough for even 20 ports.

So give it at least 7.5v  (it has about 1.5v dropout voltage so it needs minimum 6.5v to work), mount it on a heatsink, add 2 capacitors for decoupling and maybe a 100uF or higher capacitor at the output  (datasheet explains it) and feed each hub input power from it.

Feed everything from 12v from the computer or from a 19v laptop brick or something like that and  you're done.

Got a 23" Dell arriving tomorrow, a Wacom graphics tablet arriving in a month and Forza 4 arriving on Friday. Ohh and BF3 (PC!!) for launch day. Pics coming for all... Can't wait for the dual monitor setup - porn, in stereo! :-D My 460GTX has a VGA, DVI & HDMI connection. DVI being utilised for my current 22" 1680x1050 monitor and HDMI for the 40" TV. So I was considering running the 22" on VGA since it shouldn't be affected much, and use that as the secondary monitor. And DVI for the new 23" Dell (full hd). Good plan, yeah?

But, this is a picture topic so I gotta post something ;-) (i know the monitor screen needs cleaned!)

From left to right...

Horlicks - Trouble sleeping at night so thought I'd give this a go, 30min before bed. Did it work? Did it fuck... Insomnia's a bitch.

Spam Spread - That's right, it's spreadable bacon! I nearly bawked at the thought but I just tried it on brown toast and it's incredibly tasty. Two of them and that's lunch sorted... Quick, easy, tasty!

Suso Summer Berries - Really satisfying thirst quencher. 50% fruit juice, 50% mineral water. Chill it right down and it's awesome.

Levi Roots Juice - Aww yeah! Give this line-up a try. The blood orange one is amazing but the pineapple, coconut & lime is quite nice. It will make you step back a little as it tastes so different from most other juice you may have tried but get passed that and it's really refreshing over some ice with a big wedge of lemon & lime
