At first I was thinking 'roid rage, then I really felt sorry for the guy. These police were being fucking cowards and using excessive force, and I really wish he would have beaten the shit out of them.

Excessive force ? A man trying to fight police with sticks and not going to ground when told so, thats exactly what you get when you try to be a smartass with police and don't follow their orders and starts to destroy other peoples stands.
The man was asked to leave the marketplace because he didn't want to pay for his stand.
He didn't and the police was called to move him. Instead of moving, he started to play games with police and got what he ordered.

He did ask for a lawyer, and he was just resisting in a "friendly" way to begin with. Then the police got aggressive starting off with that gas, so yea, i can understand he got pissed off. From my own experience, its always better to cooperate with the police, so dont get me wrong, but i do sympathize with this guy in a way.

He was asked to leave due the lack of permission/money payed for a stand in the marketplace.
Instead of following the police orders he started to play with them (asking lawyer and shit which has nothing to do with finnish system) and not following their orders.

Whose to say how long it took to get to this point in the video. For all we know they spent 30min trying to explain to him that he needed a permit before we get to this point in the video where it was obvious he wasn't going to leave peacefully. Where they failed was not getting more police there when it became clear he was going to fight back if they tried to arrest him.
