I am not sure if its really useful but what do you think about a "Flattr" Button? This could increase the donations but then Torrentbytes would appear on the Flattr website. Why? For some people its easier then the use of paypal. Click and donate.

There are the practical problems of getting the UID on the flattr (and other) donation(s) as well as transfering the money around from one service to another.

don't know if this was already suggested, but ever thought about creating a separate Sports category?

As far as I know. Torrents on TBytes can only been in one category. Thus they would need to add a sports movie category for each format.

so it would have to be Sports DVDRip, Sports x264, Sports DVDR, etc, etc? if that's so then I understand why it would be difficult to add, although I only had in mind using it for sporting events, like NBA, NHL, NFL, etc games to be available at that category and not stuff like ESPN 30 for 30 or Hard Knocks

How about reading the first page. It clearly states this will not happen!:chair:

* Any changes on categories (We'll edit them if WE see those needed)
Stop suggesting, if theres enough stuff upped so they'll need another category those will be added

Subtitle links: In many movies there is text "No subtitle link available." Is there any change to allow members link or upload subtitles? For example there could be some kind of add subtitle button, where user can insert link or file and select subtitles language.

Members can link subtitles, thats why this feature was created.
Just press "add subtitle location link" and add.

There is no "add subtitle link". Look at this for example: http://www.torrentbytes.net/details.php?id=148243
All i can do is see full list of files or report broken torrent, but cant add subtitle link.

Could be that it's a staff only feature at the moment. Have to check the code.
But for sure this feature is there, I can see it and use it and I even remember coding it

Add torrent category to IRC-announcer. This will aid scripts to better filter out what to auto dl and what to ignore.

Example on how it could look like:
<+ByteMe> [TB-RLS] .:. [ TV/XviD ] .:. [ Omnisport.2010.09.03.WS.PDTV.XviD-W4F ] .:. [ http://www.torrentbytes.net/download.php?id=150091 ] .:. [ http://www.torrentbytes.net/details.php?id=150091 ] .:. [ Uploaded 1 minute, 22 seconds after pre ]

edit: any mods care to comment?

a PS3 section would be great as there are so many around now

#1327159 by tokolDonor (Sarcastic Admin) at 2010-09-09 13:54:49 (2 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

There is ONE ps3 torrent on site. That DOES NOT warrant a class of its own.

I'll take a look if/when I find the script somewhere or can get someone from the coding dept to do it.

PS3 had pretty much been hacked. though i havn't got the usb/chip whatever so i cant play backups. i just wonder since torrentbytes is all about new releases theres no chance that old ps3 games will be allowed to upload? i just thought since it has been hacked recently, the very old backups hasn't been playable untill now. or are those games just to old for TB?

#1327503 by tokolDonor (Sarcastic Admin) at 2010-09-10 12:55:34 (2 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

That depends solely on their pre time.

The PS3 category on other sites are VERY busy now.  Nothing a week ago but very popular now.... (because they had a Games/PS3 category to up the files..)..

a LOT of them are p2p releases

i've only seen 4 scene groups release ps3 (duplex, playme, move and dnl)
either all the other groups im seeing around are p2p or theyre just individual releases.

still, it isnt a lot, i've seen maybe 200 releases and most are dupes/repacks and if you read about 4 posts above yours
"Requests NOT going to happen

Yes I read that - I can still make a comment about it though.
W-edit: And what part of this didn't you understand?

There are dozens of working releases from those groups.
I just see it as a vicious circle.  No category because there's not enough releases - but I would be confident if there was somewhere for them to go (as per other sites) then they would be very popular.
But as you say, we're not here to question 'da authority', just accept it.  Without question....

Don't see what the problem is ? The releases are here and have a Catagory to go in right now that us unused. We will add the Catagory when needed which might be today or tomorrow or next week etc. . .

Aah, sorry.  Which category is that then?
EDIT: Sorry Earwig, just found them in 'Other'.  Unless you search for PS3 though you wouldn't know they were there.  Thanks!
