True - but sometimes search brings in some irrelevant results or misses releases.

For example, if I search Law and Order, I get Criminal Intent and SVU. If I search Law and Order SVU, I may miss Law and Order Special Victims Unit which some groups prefer to release in. A tag (unique ID) attached to each show would solve this.

And who would set the tags?

Extra work for uploaders? No thanks. And "impossible" to implement on uppers who have automated their end.

It would be nice of when it's a user's birthday there is a little party hat smilie or any other approriate image next to their user name, like it does with the warning sysmbol.

I realise that this feature has no real use... I guess it would mean that all the users would know when it's someone's birthday, so they could send them a nice message

To implement it, users could enter their DOB into the Profile page or leave it blank if they don't want people to know. You could even go as far as sending them a message; from the staff, I mean.


Let's face it, not everyone gets a new topic made for it.

As you said, that would require users entering their birthdays, which would fall under "More user information in profiles (age/sex/etc.)" which is on the "not going to happen" section already.

dont know if this has been suggested but what a ab out a review section, i know everyone talks about everything in the forums but i was thinking of a section where people can add full reviews of what ever they want

There is no point on adding an empty/dead/whatever section, so sections are added if there is enough such threads to warrant one.
For now you lot could title the threads as "Review: ***" and place under the section it fits best, for example Hardware, Apps, Games, Music.
Self-written preferred, only linking to an existing review "not encouraged".

When a torrent gets nuked the system sends a PM to everybody currently downloading it telling them so they can stop the torrent and not waste their bandwidth if they haven't fully downloaded it.

Edit@Tokol: I'm not sure if you were being serious, but if users wanna ignore it then they can do, I think most would appreciate it. Also Sniper loves adding switches for things into my.php.

What about to give back "GB" when someone downloads a torrent and after is nuked?

Unlucky people that DL large files and then cannot keep the ratio good because no one will DL the nuked torrent anymore

Add the ability to search specific threads to the forum search. It would be useful for the huge threads we have like Random Pics and Random Youtube Vids or even threads for a particular game/TV series. What made me think of it was wanting to search the What's Your Last Seen Movie thread for reviews of The Losers. Instead of displaying links it'd be best to just show the posts there and then.

for downloaded GB don't wait for data from the bittorrent client but take the data from the file (e.g. a 2GB file will add 2GB to your DL)..this would stop people from only taking half a torrent (e.g. in FL) because all GB are marked down as it is...

What if you DL a sample from a movie to see if it is of a quality you accept? With your change It would count as me DLing the entire movie even if I decide to wait for a better copy to show up.

Why does it matter if people only take part of a FL pack(Some are quite large like 5 seasons of a show in 1 torrent)? It's not like DLs count against you for FL, so what is wrong with you not grabbing the entire thing?

Generally for scene releases there is a purpose for a file not being part of a rar, as in there is an independent use for it. Your change offers no benefit to the site. FL packs are meant to allow partial seeding as they are seen as a way to allow those with slow connections to build ratio.
