What is so difficult about changing your default categories?

Go to http://www.torrentbytes.net/my.php and then select the categories you want displayed by default....



Then just save the changes and viola all the mp3 are hidden

Been reading through that list in the first post, could not see anything there.

The only thing i miss on this page is a ebook section. Let's get our read on!

I think that would be a neat addition, you could even combine ebooks and comics.

Not asking for new categories, but lately i have noticed alot of rips of old shows like.
The.Three.Stooges.S15E09...
The.Three.Stooges.S15E08...
The.Three.Stooges.S15E07...
and so on... for 50 more episodes or so..
Then 50 more episodes of Monster Garage or similare.
I don't mind the shows being there, but sholdn't these be nested or something? Are these scene files that breaks with rules if they are put in packs?

I'm stealing this from another forum(not torrent related) but on the forum you can select to see Active threads in the last 3 hours.

An option like this could get people who skip certain categories to maybe notice a title and decide to comment/answer/help.

I would like to request more items in the RSS feeds
this is already listed in "Requests under consideration/discussion"
but it might be a forgotten topic since there is no date info listed, and this thread is from 2009.

I use RSS for utorrent, also used tbnotify
both have the same issue: some torrents are not being displayed when I boot my computer

this is because the RSS items are 14 hours old max (just an example)
and my computer was turned off  for 18 hours (example again).
Sometimes releases where posted within that 4 hour gap, so those releases are not seen by utorrent RSS downloader.

if RSS items are shown for 24 hours, this would greatly improve things.
48 hours is even better
I doubt an increase in RSS items will cost torrentbytes much bandwidth.

and a added benefit: users won't have to have their computers turned on 24/7, you'll be saving the environment

Don't actually know if this idea goes here, please point me another direction if wrong.

How about a new tshirt contest? No bad rep for the original winners but looking on the same tshirt for how many years now(?) getting abit dull (again no offence to the winners), and maybe not the type of  tshirts I would be wearing in public.

Would be really nice to get some other styles to choose from that I wont feel like a nerd from (again no offence to whom who think nerds are pretty).

Any thoughts on this perhaps?

Regarding the categories organization. It's a bit messy at the moment, and not exactly easy to pinpoint the category you want. Hence I suggest re-ordering them so stuff is easy to find. Quickly typed up what I mean in Excel.

The above section [in the image] is the current category order. The below section [in the image] is the proposed category order.

Guess you forgot about the search function next to the categories when you made that excel files ^^

I guess that'll not happen. I bet it requires some major code changes to how the category list is fetched and presented, not just on browse, but also on user profile settings etc.

Not really, searching is a different matter. This is about being user friendly and presenting information in the most efficient way.

Could be, I'm not sure how the backend of TBY is setup. Nor am I expert on these matters, just a suggestion/idea is all

If your the latest poster in a thread make it so the quote button edits it in to your current post, rather than just not allow quoting to prevent double posting.
Or just allow quoting all the time and have the check for double posting when you press submit.

Well what you're asking has been asked a few times and its always been put in the not happening section.

Each music upload also has a genre option next to it, its just its not in the main categories, you could always bookmark that link.

Is it too much to suggest that when a pack is uploaded...to see in nfo what resolution is and what sound format is that pack ?
