Sadly I don't have access to where the script is ran from and the person who does.. really has a bit much on their plate right now. I firmly believe this is something that can and will be done, but it really is not a priority as of right now.

Theres about 200 posts in the queue of being sorted and thread being cleaned up.. While waiting for that motivation boost on getting it done. It actually does take a few bits of effort.

heres a suggestion and i hope it not covered by this "Reorganize browse categories "

personally im a mac user and so i deselected pc as one of my categories.

Problem> instructional vids, sound loops and hybrid apps are all going to apps>pc

so any chance of adding hybrid or instructional category to better match the true category?

Okay, stop me if you've heard this one before but I'm typing this and nobody will actually see it until it's complete and I've hit submit; but I digress.

How about, if you quote anyone and add nothing but a "Smily", like say, that facepalm one (which I've heard is a popular "retort" with morons who freqent image boards); you will get an unchangable avatar with the words, I am a useless fuck, please disregard my posts". For a limited time of course.

I am working on more ideas so stay tuned!

I'd suggest implementing a "Mobile phones and related crap" section on the forum.

Seems like half of the new threads in Hardware are about phones which.... yes, they're hardware but not the kind you'd talk about fixing/upgrading/etc

I'd suggest implementing something that forces users to read and understand first posts of the threads.

Seems like even forum regulars have hard time with that... I really don't get how it can be so hard.

Lets say there are 10 torrents i want to download from the browse page instead of clicking all of them i just mark them and then at the bottom i click download selected..

And maybe a buffer? how many GB/TB between upload and download?

how about us user being able to post youtube videos like mods/admins, instead of just links? i think the random video thread would be far better if we could post the video instead of a link

Because as is there is no limits as to how many clips you can put on one post, giving that someone would surely go over the top with the feature.

No systematic foul language anywhere on the site. (and none at all in thread titles).

It seems over the last few months swearing is becoming more and more common. Its not bad when its just one comment in an entire thread but when person a says it, then person b, then person c ,then person d straight after, it brings the site down.

I am not talking about "hell" as I know that can be offensive to some but more of the designated swear words such as fu*k and even worse, I seen someone use the word cu*t which is pretty offensive to females and could deter more from using the forums if thats the first thing they see or if they see it used more without anyone doing anything.

I tend to think people here at TBy are educated and or intelligent and can find words to use apart from swear words.

I am no angel either, in real life I swear as well but I always like how the discussions in TBy would be filled with proper/mostly proper grammar.

@Brainless i really doubt people would shy away from forums due to some bad language, as you said IRL it happens all the time, people dont generally shy away from conversation due to swearing, they just dislike it. The no systematic one works, if its excessive it has been put a stop too before i've noticed. No swearing at all does seem a little over the top if im honest.

The videos loading on a) slower connection b)limited data amount connections c) browser with not enough memory (for example mobile devices) would make the forums quite unusable or cause unwanted data transfer to the point where it start cost some serious pennies. An option would be to limit the amount of videos posted at once, but I believe that is not a priority as is.

Don't know if this has been requested before (sorry not active in the forums), but it would be nice if we can default our downloads to SSL torrents or have an RSS feed for SSL torrents. Hopefully it will be easy for you guys to do.

Problem Solved: Changed RSS feed URL from http to https and it works! Thanks to Super Mod, Wandel, below me.

Clicking the download icon on the Browse page defaults to SSL, if you're using SSL to browse the site.

ok, done some searching but not found a request for this yet. How about a 3D section on TBY for 3d movies? i've a few 3d SBS format blue ray rips that I can up, but looking to add more to my collection & theres more and more 3d material out there.
