only body parts and organs.
othern that all other uses are un-ethical

They should be allowed to clone anyone or anything. endless possibilities.
life is only a real as you choose to make it

...but please... no jimmys j/k

I chose the clonecd thingy because it was funny
Yes but only body parts/organs, not whole people that 1 is better though
#123985 by unknown[63576] at 2005-03-21 16:05:42 (8 years ago) - [Report]
Whole body ffs, then everyone can look the same and no one have to be jaelous.

pfff xism well will stil find a reason to make fun of people, but i am against cloning entire humans but organs can help alot of people and the research into it can help understand deseases and find cures t alot of illnesses, dont people want a good cure for cancer? or other genetic diseases

Yes for medical purposes
Far worse things than cloning have been done in the name of medical science before, and guess what, we've made progress in curing and treating people

What if my clone killed me, and took my place?
No one would even know...
but then again, what if i am the clone?
Good point, I guess we'll have the "brand" ( I think thats the word, you know like they do to cattle to identify em) all of the clones!
I voted only organs and sh*t like that. I'm probably gonna die of lung cancer someday, so I'd like the docs to make another lung for me. That would be awesome.

Anybody need heads up on ideas and phillosophy about cloning? You should check out that shite Schwarzenegger movie that came out a couple of years ago.. "the 6th day" This movie really indulges in the vast and critical influences cloning can have on the human race today. I mean, not only does the incredible and harmoneous acting by Arni portray the breath taking possibilities at hand, it also opens a whole new world of opportunities that exhibits and thus persues the notion of love and happiness. Simply stunning!...pfffft!!!... umm yeah... LOL
dont watch it

For medical reasons? If you clone a dying man, you will get an exact replica but without his memories and feelings, so what's the point?
the clone usually starts out as a baby, it doesn't turn into an old dying man instantly
although it would have been fun to create a couple of "mes" and send them off a cliff or something
Yes, but it will only remain a replica of the original, without the same memories or feelings.
What makes you think that the memories would get lost?

ugh offcourse a clone doesnt have the original feelings and memory's its a different person.. just with the same dna.. do identical twins all have the same personality and feelings...

Ultimately, the question of how similar an original and a clone would be boils down to how much of personality is determined by genetics, an area still under active scientific investigation.
Human cloning is the creation of a genetically identical copy of an existing human or growing cloned tissue from that individual. The term is generally used to refer to artificial human cloning; human clones in the form of identical twins are commonplace, with their cloning occurring during the natural process of reproduction.

that really doesnt surprise me.. He is quite the niandertaler (if thats how you spell it)
Copying DNA does not replicate ones personality. Memories come from experience and experience cannot be replicated. Therefore, if the clone is a biologically identical being produced from stem cells at a later age, the experiences and memoreis that are stored in the brain cannot be transferred into the clone. Thats why that "6th day" movie is full of it. A clone would not remember its past as if it were its donor organism.

I don't really see the meaning with cloning, there's no use to have 5 exactly same persons right? I could accept cloning in medical situations e.g. if a man is deadly sick and he still wants to live, then they could clone him. The only problem is that he's going to be reborn and be 0 years once again (right?).
But it's a good thing that cloning is forbidden in most countries (if not all), 'cause I can bet my ass that the big corporations like Nike etc. would clone 1000 people just to have them work in a factory all day for almost no money. The would be like machines.

The poll options are not exactly exhaustive. I want cloning legalized so I can finish my army of atomic supermonsters, not for any la-dee-dah do-good reason.
