edit: on a more serious note, i dont think either are funny, people dying from starvation or people dying or from a speculated plane crash.

Exactly. When western people die,it's in the news headlines and it's "horrible". When 10k poor people die due a mud avalanche or similar, it's printed somewhere matchbox size and it's forgotten about in a day. If there would not have been so many westerns who died when the tsunami hit the asia, I doubt it would have been so big news for such a long time.

Edit: RohitPenace, ok, removed any kind of misjudgment from me. I've never found any tragedy to be funny.. some people do.

Edit2: sniperfin, what you see on your local newspaper is completely different from what is felt in the country/region of the disaster. I bet if you had a family in that plane/mud avalanche/ tsunami/ terrorist bombing/ earthquake/ monsoon/ genocide you wouldn't forget in a day, would you?

Ofcourse not, but the mother of that infant who dies in africa when I write this post does not forget either. That picture does not mean that those who had relatives/friends on that flight should forget or not grief. Just like funny pictures about josef fritzl do not mean that pedophiles are not monsters and that pedophiles are something to laught about.

Now what I'm trying to say is I agree with pimpNeasy. There are lots of more disturbing pic's on this thread. For every person a ''disturbing'' picture is something else. Now we can all agree that what happened to those people is just sad and horrified.

Not laughing about a funny pic doesn't make you a better person. You probably have laughed more than one time about others serious sad news items. For you it probably must be over 10years later. Jokes about Hitler, Stalin, Vietnam war etc.

Just take your issues somewhere else.

My father was reading the paper today, on front page there was of course only airfrance related stuff.

No, I ment that it is always a big tragedy and the whole world should mourn when western people die in some accident, when on the other hand there are tons of children dying for hunger every day around the world and nobody gives a shit.
I personally don't know anybody from that plane nor from those children, so why should I share a special tear for neither of those groups ?
