I never said propaganda is good and in my original post I had explained this more clearly but I decided to re-write it shorter because this is not the place to discuss this. I ended up not explaining that clearly, however in that post you can see that I only said it is better, implying it is the lesser of the two evils because at least with that propaganda they were encouraging scientific thinking which requires proof.

Saying that atheism is a religion is an outright lie because the very definition of atheism is the lack of belief in a god(s). It may be a belief but it doesn't necessarily mean religious belief.

I completely agree with you with that all indoctrination and propaganda is bad but some are definitely less bad than others (Especially the ones with the end goal of thinking for yourself or relying on evidence).

I think that the moral concepts that religions attempt to teach is basicly a good thing...but I also think that MAN has latched onto the concept of "God says/wants" and acted to use the concepts to control the general populations of the planet and nothing more.

I have been in many churchs of many religions in my decades.
I can see the common threads and themes that are good moral concepts.
I can also see the the control and corruption that most practice as governed by those who lead/control.
This in part is why I distrust/question/disapprove of what alot of my government does,control via corruption.

I have gone from a young child who prayed each night to the man in the sky...believed that the Easter Bunny brought candy and that Santa brought toys...to thinking it is all the same as Voodoo.

One only has to spend time however outside of cities on the plaines,in the forrrests or out on the seas and have time to think...and wonder about all of creation and want to -know/understand- what the reality of it all is.

My "want" for many decades has not any longer cared for the many man controlled institutions and the propaganda they feed to control the populations...my "want" seeks reality of facts.
