Right-click the taskbar and select 'Properties'; from there check 'Use small icons' and on the 'Taskbar buttons:' drop-down, select 'never combine'. Follow those steps and you will have the classic taskbar.

Any chance I can get a link to that wallpaper?  I like that 3d effect.  I use to have one similar that was the inside of a monitor, showing the inside electronics so your icons looked as if they were hovering in mid air, but it was lost long ago in one of my malware-rage time to format episodes.


Also, I was curious if anyone uses Dreamscene.  Ive seen videos of it, but it didnt come with my version of vista. 

So I downloaded some sweet high-res video loops and made VLC do it for me.
Enable directx mode
enable wallpaper mode
change setting to remove vlc from taskbar
set vlc to start minimized in the system tray
set playlist pref to loop
add a shortcut from the vid file to your startup folder 

I bet this uses less sys resources than dreamscene too ;-)

btw, dx mode doesnt get along well with aero and will change the scheme to windows vista basic while the loop is in wallpaper mode.

What system are you using to moniter the hard drives and etc.?
