Not really a serious issue, but still annoying.

If I type http://www.torrentbytes.net/browse.php into my browser I get redirected to the login page, which informs me I am already logged in.  If I'm already logged in, there should be no need to redirect me to the login page.

I'd reckon the problem is your browser, not the site.
If it was the site, it'd happen to ~everyone.

Check this out: http://torrentbytes.net/browse.php

You need to take out the "www" from the URL. The redirection is wrong, hence the message. It's really annoying (yes, it happens to me too)

For me it was the opposite. Armed with this 'clue' it was easy to deduce it's a cookie problem.

If you login through http://www.torrentbytes.net/login.php the cookie is set on www.torrentbytes.net, if you login through http://torrentbytes.net/login.php, the cookie is set on torrentbytes.net

So in my case I was logged in on www.torrentbytes.net but not on torrentbytes.net, so if I go to http://torrentbytes.net/browse.php it doesn't see the cookie, redirects to www.torrentbytes.net/loging.php , which does see the cookie and notifies me I'm already logged in.

For now, I fixed it by logging in on both variants of the url, so both have a cookie. The real solution would be to set the cookie on .torrentbytes.net (the leading dot is important) which makes the cookie available to all torrentbytes.net subdomains.

Quoting somebody posting a video (with the [video] tag) shows the video in the quote (if they have privileges). This is a clear waste of resources and space and I'm guessing it's not intentional as quoted images are condensed to a link.

They don't? Try quoting this and you'll see the video tags are stripped...

Unless it's inconsistent that is...

Like I said, it's only if the quoter has permissions to post video tag. How about try quoting yourself and you'll see.

Thanks for trying, inconsistent I guess then. If you look at this thread you'll see DXC quote a video Sniper posts and both videos appear:

i suppose either it was a bug and sniper got it fixed (that post is 1+ month old)
or dxc add the video tags manually

There is one glitch that the img tags suffer from too, but the coders already know about that one. Guess it's just a tricky one to solve. ;p

Shouldn't matter as the syntax for posting a video won't have changed since then and parsing BB is handled on the fly.

Go on then, I'm curious now, tell me about this glitch.

Edit@Reply: Fair enough, better stop spamming this thread now. :giggle:

No because I don't want to see people abusing it before it can be fixed.

when someone press 'quote' , the video tags are stripped, that is not done on the fly by BB
that could be what have been fixed

dont know if this is a bug or not but... maybe it is suppose to be like that?

This image has been resized, click here to view the full-sized image.

is it suppose to blow up the image to an bigger size to?

edit: first one is [img] second is [imgw]

Yes, so you should only usually use it when an image is wider than the site and it needs to be squashed. Firefox and Chrome have a "max-width" CSS property but IE doesn't support it, which I'm guessing is the reason imgw doesn't employ it over "width".

Not sure if this is a bug or not, or if it's intentional, but sometimes when I look at users' profiles I can see their ratio, and what they're currently leeching/seeding. The ratio is always above 1 when it's visible. Am I able to see it because it's a positive ratio?

I apologize if this question is obvious, just thought I should report it.

Edit: Thanks saveferris.

Users choose if they want their stats shown or not. You do this by typing one of the following into the Info box on your profile page:
[showstats=all] (Everyone sees your stats)
[showstats=friends] (Your friends see your stats)

The search function is working badly imo

for example, i just tried to look for "2001: A Space Odyssey" and found nothing.

But woah, here it is..

Well, because the title does not contain that phrase nor the description (cause the torrent is re-uploaded after site being down and torrent deleted).
Also that is not a bug or error either.
Easiest way to search for pack content (due the fact that many packs are re-uploaded and have no description what they have inside of them) is to read threads which have pack indexes like this:
http://www.torrentbytes.net/forum_viewt … amp;page=1

Hello, i don't know if this is the right place for this but i just checked that the time being a member is not indicated well or am i wrong ?
In my profile for example:

Join date    2008-08-23 02:00:50 (1 year ago)

Is it because it counts years only ?

#1318741 by Aterlatus (VIP) at 2010-08-17 00:38:33 (2 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

It counts the smallest reasonable unit. If you've been here for 6 days, it'll say 6 days. If you've been here for 12 weeks, it'll count in months.

Hello, my problem is, that i always see torrents with (NEW!) in the end, even tho i refresh the site, it's been like this since i joined TB. Even when i go to the last page of the torrents, still everything is marked as (NEW!).

Could it have something to do with my browser? I'm using google chrome.

Edit:It's thesame with Opera and IE.
