why are you going to replace a 480 with a 570? they are basicly identical in performance, except for high res with maxed out settings, where the 480 is a bit faster because of more vram.

Because I can? and makes me feel more leet and quicker response in games, since it's a newer version.
Nothing beats me turning corner 0.1 ms faster than my opponent and pwn the person in his face.

And with my new mobo with USB3, i can get connection to the gameserver faster and the killernic keeps the latency even lower for even faster trigger response.

@Angelitta
Fail, its called input lagg, some have less than others, mine has been modded with liquid for quick electrical transfer.

@Bondator
Your screensaver is sure a safe way to get stoned.

Been wanting to get that Motherboard as well but couldn''t find a decent waterblock for it so went for a evga board instead which I still need to install but holding it up for now till I get my next upgrades.

Just out of curiosity, how much did the entirety of that list cost? I'm looking to build/buy a new PC.

The HDD's Ive had most of them from previous builds except the 2TB and 300gb raptor. All in all it's about $2700 not including case, monitors, mouse/keyboard and some hdd's. I think this thing would cost about $2200 easy if not mistaken. I just don't like the CPU it's the C0/C1 and can't get pass 3.4ghz OC. Trying to get the 970 6 core then I think I'm more than happy with this baby =)

Finally ordered some new pieces, such as the gtx570 to replace my gtx480.
Hopefully overhauling my system within the next few weeks with all the new hardware and rebuilt liquid cooling setup with more bling

Atm waiting for some parts to arrive.

Going to lap my CPU as well to lower the temp. even more.

Looking forward to post my new setup here from built up to ready state.

- EK Dual D5 pump top.
- EK GTX580 waterblock acetal + nickel.
- EK GTX580 backplate acetal.
- Feser fans for the radiators.
- All Bitspower compression fittings.
- Tygon black and clear tubing.
- Bitspower drive bay reservoir.
- Numerous blue LED's.
- Corsair Dominator GT DDR3 memory.
- EK memory waterblock for Corsair Dominator GT.
- Maybe a additional 140mm radiator at the bottom of my case.
- A bluray or dvd burner using SATA instead IDE.
- Grit 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500 Colad sanding paper to get my CPU totally flat and shiny.
- Who knows what more...

And no, not building a whole new system. Minor upgrades and changes to my watercooling setup.

Motherboard, a pretty good (overclockable) new evga mobo without a premium price, that has USB3 and Sata600.

how much did all that cost yinchie? cool setup though.
I have no idea why you bought the velociraptors  it's not like you need it if you've got a ssd for games and OS

@Angelitta

Crappy layout, rofl. It is actually very nice and quite a normal common layout - you won't see any other motherboard with a whole different layout unless it is a dual CPU board like the EVGA SR2.
Everything is on the same spot you would expect it to be on any motherboard.

I actually picked this motherboard for that layout - like nothing is blocking anything and plenty of space and usb3 and sata600 and onboard controls and voltage measure points and the LED showing codes.

And it is a very good motherboard! Don't let the price fool you.
Check some reviews.

The only difference between SLi3 and the Classified3 is:
SLI3 has:
- 1 less ethernet port.
- 1 less PCI-E port.
- 1 less PCI port.
- no IDE port.
- ATX size instead EATX.
Every other feature including the BIOS is the same and since I do not need a extra ethernet port, a 4th PCI-E port or even a PCI port or even a IDE port = why would I pay 100+ bucks more for something I don't need?
Which also saves me money on the waterblock, obviously the block for the Classified3 is more expensive.
And since I already spent way over 1000 Euro on watercooling equipment alone, I don't want to spent on things I do not need in my setup.

You can keep going to be jealous @ me with your AMD fanboyism.

Anyways, I will be removing the chipset heatsinks for the EK waterblock.

Btw this mobo is based on their Limited Edition (which is no longer available atm), but upgraded it with USB3 and Sata600 and small extra features.

USB3 and Sata6G is important for me since I am getting hardware that can use it like the Crucial SSD - like world first consumer SSD that makes use of Sata6G.

@Borstis62

I had the Velociraptors before I got my SSD.
So I started using the Velo's as my data storage.
Bought the Samsung F3 1TB for backups.

Price, well a lot >.<
And it isn't even a complete setup, for example I am keeping my current CPU, PSU, Case, Radiators etc.

I actually have an Intel system... haven't used AMD since the Barton days. Processors i mean, I do have a Radeon 4850 as video card, where I may be biased.

The motherboard sucks for several reasons ...

This image has been resized, click here to view the full-sized image.

1. the 8 pin power connector is in a bad position
  If you have the psu on the bottom
    - and the cable is short, there's a chance it will touch the video cards, with cards staying at 70-90c the unshielded cable's isolation on a cheap power supply could melt and cause short circuits and unexpected reboots.
    - and the cable is long, you can move the cable behind the board and feed it from above but then it may block the airway between the cpu cooler heatsink and the voltage regulators - the air cooler is supposed to blow air through the cpu heatsink and over the voltage regulators and out of the case.  As you plan on using water cooling the voltage regulators may overheat if there's no airflow there.

2. they could have abstained from making those waves in the chipset heatsink on the left and place a pci-express x1 slot there that would actually be useful for something, as it currently is all slots are covered if you do 3x sli. The heatsink could have been just a bit wider and maybe less tall and they could have just done a ribbed top or those fins to increase the dissipation surface instead of using a flat top just to write there the name of the card.   Now i don't know if there's some traces on the board there that would prevent mounting a pci-ex 1x but I doubt it, such connector doesn't need that many traces.

3. The only PCI slot there would be covered by the cooler of the second video card - high chance of that if someone's buying such motherboard. So if this happens and guy has just dual sli, he's left with 2 pci ex, but no pci.

Someone's more likely to have a pci card that he/she wants to keep like an audigy or some tv tuner- if they wanted to mount there some sound card on the last pci ex 1x or some killer nic, they could do it at the top above the pci express x16.

My guess they just chose pci-ex x1 only so they could put those nice round buttons there.

4. Oh and look at that... big heatsink, big ram modules with heatsink fins.. can you say cpu surrounded by big warm things, trapping heat there ... less than optimal air flow ?

Here's some more sensible designs, though slightly more expensive, I admit:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6813131614

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6813130226  (cheaper than yours but no usb 3.0 though gets the design better imho)
