Why would you want a GTX 480 if the GTX 295 is better performance wise and is not a bloody furnace

It isn't DX11.

And now I get 80 FPS average in BFBC2 with DX11, all settings max and 1920x1200

Going to add a second card later (not a second GTX480 tho, just a old card to be used as a multi-gpu for physx etc) once i got my water cool block for this one.

Implying games use DX11 That much
You would be MUCH MUCH better off with CF 5870 or 5970

If you look there is minimal difference, and it's safe to say there will be maybe a 3fps difference when you do 16x AA between a GTX 480 and HD 5970. And 5870 CF would cost more than 5970 even so you can't compare that with a card that is considerably cheaper.

Now can we stop bashing the GTX 480 and stay on topic. The Fermi thread was locked for this reason.

Hehe I didn't start about it in this topic
It seems whenever GTX480 is mentioned some AMD/ATI fanboys starts bashing when they do not look further than their nose - as in other features that NVIDIA delivers, so it is kinda obvious some people will defend NVIDIA.

Anyways, my work log:

Next week I will be changing some stuff, more pics and hopefully a better looking inside of my case.

- Going to sleeve the motherboard 24/26 pins cable in black, one cable is one sleeve, at the end easier to bend and flatten.
- Perhaps also sleeving the PCI-Express cables in black.
- Replace the blue flat wide DVD drive IDE cable to a rounded black IDE cable.
- Sleeving the fan controller / temp meters cable in black.
* As a result less happy colors in the case, too bad I can't spray paint the blue orange GIGABYTE motherboard

- Changing the clear (see through) tubing into black tubing, changing from Feser tubings into Tygon tubing.
* higher quality tubing, most expensive tubings for water cooling the PC, makes it easier to get around corners etc without kinking (which makes Tygon the best tubing in the world) also black tubing with shiny silver fittings looks great.

- Adding a additional 240mm radiator, going to be installed at the back of my case since I cant be arsed to drill out a certain area at the bottom of my case. (maybe something for the future, you can never have enough radiators and cooling )
- Perhaps adding a extra 140mm radiator at bottom of my case.

- Adding my water cool block for my GTX480 videocard.

- New reservoir
- New stronger pump with a awesome looking shiny top from Koolance.

- All running in one loop, a 360 radiator + 240 radiator and perhaps a extra 140mm radiator should be able to cool down everything.

// At a later period I am going to spray paint my Noctua fan casings into black since I don't really like the beige color.
// Also at a later period once I upgraded my memory to Corsair Dominator GT, I will be water cooling the memory sticks as well with a water block from MIPS.

Looking forward to make it happen next week and making pictures of it

My inspiration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xkGzk9rHWg and http://www.overclockers.com/forums/show … p?t=639546

\\ Spend on water cooling including upgrades mentioned above here : ~1008 Euro, money well spent, low temps, high and stable overclocks, lower noise even with so much fans on the radiators (at 900-1000RPM, the fans are silent, the radiators I use are made for low air flow) and not to mention, looks cool.

1200 was too expensive but I have looked at the 902 and having trouble deciding which one to choose 902 or cm 932, they are both the exact same price here

edit: I bought the HAF 932 and I am happy with it, my cpu temp went from 55 C to 47 C and gpu from 86 C to 75 C when running prime 95 and furmark at the same time.

I got mine about a month ago. Here is what I waited so long back then to get out of the customs . :
CPU : i7 950 Blumfield.
MB : Asus Rampage II Extreme
RAM : 12 GB DDR3 1800 mhz Patriot (6x2 triple channel)
VGA : Radeon 5970 2 GB DDR5
Storage : 3x1tb ( samsung 103sj, samsung 103 si & some hitachi i got for free) + 1 external 0.5 TB WD Black.
It eats power, so i needed some nice power station.

1200 w Chieftec.

It is all inside Thermaltake Xaser VI which comes with microrefrigerating system for cpu.

I'll add some pic's later .

That is one big air cooler you have there, does it weight like 2KG or something?

Hmm doesn't the memory sticks get hot? since I see no heatspreader or anything like that.
Or aren't they "overclock" memory?

Not even OC'd memory gets hot enough to actually need heatspreaders.
