In the end the difference between "best friend" and "bf/gf/husband/wife" should be relatively small.
"bf/gf/husband/wife" is the one you commit yourself to and best friend is someone who knows everything about you and still wants to be with you. My choice would go where these two unite. Atm it seems more appropriate to call that person "best friend". (Hypothetical situation with a hypothetical answer, of course.)

Basically, the way I see it is your significant other and your best friend should be one and the same ... you should be fortunate enough to basically share your thoughts, dreams, ideas, hopes, visions, laughs, tears, pains, triumphs, confidences, etc and them be there for you and you there for them... you start out as friends and then grow from there and anything else is just a bonus...basically your significant other and your best friend should be one and the same anyways.

I would love to hang out with a friend (real or online), a TB mod, or all together, but for the good of mankind, and repopulate to keep being the dominant of all species, i would proudly take the job as a procreator and choose GF/WIFE, with very important duties like:
- have sex all day.
- eat
- sleep
ok, i know, it's not necesary to have sex all the time to get my gf pregnant, but why take that risk...
