Watched "Paths of glory" a little while a ago and liked it 9/10

But just finished watching "Das Boot", the definitive 4h 42min version
one of the best war movies ever, an easy 10/10.

The Mist - 6.5/10

Not having seen the original and from having bad experiences with other Stephen King's adapted movies, I expected a real cheese fest but boy, was I wrong.
I would have given this higher marks if it wasn't for an illogical action by the main character at the end which made it almost a ridiculous conclusion for me.

This is how it should have ended,

I would have preferred It if the five runaways all eventually died after abandoning the jeep when it ran out of gas. Then later we see the people, who were left behind in the supermarket, riding on a military truck as it passes the jeep.
The survivors recognize the jeep and look at it in shock/horror. Then pan to military squadron....The End

A better non-typical hollywood ending.

This is one of the best, if not, the best movie I've ever seen, such a nice beautiful story and acting. Just excellent.
