Pretty film to look at = one point! Olgas bazongas = one point.

Star Trek - 4/10 - That was just... uninteresting. A couple of neat moments, mostly nods to the franchise, and some great visuals, but it's just, I don't know, lame. Not awful, just lame. Oh yeah and I forgot stupid what with the silly villain and plot.

Iron Man 3 - 7.5/10 - Good but a wee bit disappointing especially if you've read Extremis and were hoping to see that. I think it would have been better if they'd have stuck closer to that storyline. Solid film though but not as good as I was hoping, plus it kinda felt like they were wrapping up the Iron Man films which kinds sucks if that is the case.

Last Stand - 4/10 - Sixty minutes of mostly boring, Arnold-lite exposition. Thirty minutes of decent if a bit silly now Arnold-heavy shooting. The action was okay but strangely enough I wouldn't mind a better mix of those two parts. Not sure if Arnold would be up to something fairly slow and serious like that though...

The premise wasn't that sound, but I don't really care. Explosions, Arnold, explosions.
Wonder how much blood he had left in the end, his clothes were soaked in blood when the credits started rolling.

By far the worst in the triology, but the humour and effects reeled in some points.

Ben Kingsley did a damn good and funny Mandarin, epic.

Identity Thief (2013)

Not the best road movie comedy but the two leads were pretty good together and there were several funny scenes.

Maniac 5.5/10

A remake (starring Elijah Wood) of the 1980 horror. Shot mostly in first person view. Kind of weird with a pointless plot, but man, the gore was well made. I haven't cringed this much since i watched "New York Ripper" back in the early 90's.

Use weird images, like naked old witches smeared in blood to cover up a boring story and dialogue, include your talentless wife as the lead and call it a movie.

The Place Beyond the Pines - 6.5/10. Was a good movie, but watched it at the wrong time.

better than I thought it would be. I think Mel Gibson would have been a better fit for a 'loner shoot first' role like this.

Obilvion - 7/10 - A pleasant surprise! The first act was the best, great visuals, a good, mysterious sci-fi plot... then it took a bad turn with the scavengers and whatever but picked up in the end. Two parts almost A. C. Clarke like, one part cheap and boring modern scifi movie.
