Im still nore sure myself about the birds but it was Tom himself who drew them towards him. He most likely killed Prof Matheson with his powers, subconcially. The trick where they find out that he and his accomplice use the watches to time and cheat their way through the test is explained in the movie. Most of his tricks he did while in the test was as they said unsubstatial and was discarded as scientific proof of the paranormal (could only bend spoon while holding it etc). And the apartment where Silver was with the salt line was i guess a place where he conned people. They could all have been paid off by Silver for looking like they way they did by Silver or they were just people who believed him so much that they were sure his powers were real. Oh yeah, if you didnt catch it, it wasnt Silver who had powers, it was Tom. Setting, style of the movie and everything is great. But for the actual story line we would need answers to all the questions. Yeah I'm still not satisfied, when you have this many twists and wtf moments in the movie, you should be able to expain more than the few things we got.
