Machine Gun Preacher - 8/10

What's not to love about this movie? The fact that it's inspired by a true story makes it amazing.

Clearskin - 4/10

What a big fucking disappointment..not one mention of winter coming

Only gave it 4 because of the scene where he interrogates the whore

Safe House - 7.5/10

Denzel never disappoints. The ending is quite predictable tho.

Forest Gump  8/10

First time seeing this since release, I got to admit i was not a big fan of this the first time, i think i was just too young. This really is one of them feel good movies that just works, the timining and story telling is second to none. Why do they hardly make movies of this scale anymore?

Jack Carter - 5/10. Decent Dune-ish scifi, but far from any masterpeice.

The Flowers of War - 6,5/10. A touching depiction of the brutalities suffered by the Chinese during the 2nd Sino-Japanese War. Bale's good as always, but some of the child actors were not so good.

Spiderman - 7/10 - Not the new one, the 2000something one. I didn't remember it being so good. Abrupt ending but a solid and wholesome and fun superhero film. What more do you want?

I never understood the love people give this and part 2. I thought they basically just stole the Superman 1 and 2 storyline and pacing.

The formula works. Hero is a nobody, slowly becomes a hero, gets in trouble, meets a girl... you know the drill.

The Amazing Spider-Man - 8/10 - I kinda think I like this better than The Avengers :shocking:

It's really good but it's biggest problem is that it feel unnecessary, going over very recent old ground yet again. Now that they've covered the obligatory origin again, it'll be interesting to see what they're able to do when they're allowed to be a bit more creative.
The film covers the origin very quickly and it's not that much different from the one we all know and once again it's heartbreaking to see Uncle Ben die but it wouldn't make sense if it he didn't. I thought Andrew Garfield & Emma Stone have insane amounts of chemistry there's a lot to be said for sleeping with your co-star :-D

CGI has come a long way cause I didn't even notice when Spider-man was CGI and when he was live action, the lizard looks great too. The whole film has a nice dark tone to it while still being Spider-man and not losing it's humour too much. I was always kinda looking forward to this movie but it's only after I've seen it now that I'm far happier they went with a reboot rather than allowing a fourth Raimi/Maguire outing. Even though I suspect Spider-man 2 will always been one of my favourite if not my absolute favourite comic-book movie this franchise has the potential to best it.

I would love to know what the fuck they're planning on doing with Norman Osborn cause from the sounds of it, it's gonna be a lot different to the route they usually take and where is Harry? Plus what the fuck is with these guys complete inability to hold onto their secret identities in these movies.

Lastly if they kill Gwen, which I'm expecting them to do, that's gonna leave me in a fucking bad place for a long time  Not looking forward to that at all.

Cast Away  7/10

I loved this movie back in 2000 when it came out, but I was a younger and more niave version of me, there are some serious pacing issues with the middle of this movie.  That being said I still love it, I love the fact they didnt feel the need to put a totally happy ending on this (getting the girl).

American Reunion - 6/10 - I didn't really like it. It gets 6 for nostalgia and Ali Cobrin's just fucking incredible breasts. If I'm honest I'd have given it a 10 purely if Rebecca De Mornay had gotten topless too, she's still so fucking hot.
