The Raid - 8/10 - I don't usually do well with foreign language films and haven't been able to tolerate subs in a while but man this was well worth it. Not much of a story this about as pure an action movie as you'll get and I didn't really need any depth I was quite happy with what I got although how do explain all these incredibly well trained fighting drug dealers? & damn that one guy at the end was fucking tough.

Aliens - 9/10 - These creatures terrified me as a child so it took a while for me see it but I do remember eventually watching it. This is the first time I've watched it in it's entirety in years. It's just as good as I remember, the acting isn't what I'd call top notch but the story is amazing and very well executed.
Ripley is simply one of the bravest characters you'll ever see I mean she decides to confront her fears head on here and deliberately puts herself in a nightmare situation far worse than the one she previously survived for no real reason but she really does find herself in this.
I really don't understand the motivation to get the Alien back to the company especially after seeing what it did to the colonists, it's so short sighted you live on earth why would you risk your home?

Oh boy and that Queen, holy crap! :shocking:

American Reunion - 7/10

Was it the best American pie, not for me, but it was a class return to form for the franchise after the terribad straight to DVD's. A few good laughs, seemed less 'set pieces', ie the dance of scene in pie3, or the lesbo scene in pie2. But this doesnt make it a bad thing, theese guys are growing up, and im glad the writing has changed with the age! I hope they make more ... And yes this is prob a guilty pleasure from my teenage years so i am biased!

It's mentioned in the movie that it's simply about money but that doesn't make sense to me. It makes sense in the first movie cause they're ignorant about these creatures or at least I assume they were but in Aliens not only has the colony been destroyed they also get to witness the horror first hand.

Prometheus doesn't really explain our curiosity about the xenomorphs but it does show that

the engineers aren't stupid enough to mess with these things on their home planet.

Dreamscape (1984) - 3/10 - Just Fucking awful! I barely got through it. There isn't a single good thing I can say about this piece of shit. Everything sucks, from the acting to the story, even the score is just terrible. I think the closest thing to something positive to say is that the basic premise is kinda interesting, but that's it. :no:

21 Jump Street - 7/10 - Didn't expect it to be good and it really is.

The Thin Red Line - 6/10 - I know some consider this one of the greatest war movies but I'm not so sure. I found it too long & boring plus I am not a fan of the constant inner monologues.

Steven Lloyd Wilson wrote in his review "The Thin Red Line is an infuriating movie to watch, alternating between flashes of brilliance and stretches of boredom. It�s either the most boring brilliant film or most brilliant boring film ever made." Yup! I write this and am struggling to get through the last half hour.

Moneyball - 7/10 - Almost an 8/10 but didn't have that feel good moment that I was kinda hoping for in a sports movie, it was there kinda but not enough to raise me from my seat and move me to tears. :lol:

Still amazing story told really well and surprisingly true too, made me almost care about baseball.
Nice having the week off to catch up on movies
