Captain America (2011)

A pretty entertaining super hero action movie with a good cast and story and there's a cool easter egg after the credits.
I never knew the back story about Captain America's humble beginnings until now and that was really well done.
What I also liked was that it didn't have your typical Hollywood happy ending.
This is much better than Green Lantern.

Captain America: The First Avenger - 8.5/10

It lived up to my expectations, and now I'm even more hyped about The Avengers. Can't wait! Loved the story, loved the action, loved the cast.

Great because of the chill that it builds up, but the ending let me down a bit and it was a little too cliche.

For me the best indicator between a bad superhero movie and a great superhero movie comes down to the "villain" and they really nailed it with this movie.

I really cannot recommend this film highly enough. Finely tuned photography, scenery and music really make this film a hit for me.

2/ 10 all of them...same goes for Iron Man, X-Men (although the last one was a huge improvement) Superman and Spiderman.

Having grown up reading comics one has certain expectations and feels certain parts of the original story should be respected. Nick Fury is black? Thor on earth was a crippled doctor named Donald Blake etc etc etc..the list is endless and for a purist these films generally suck balls.

The first Batman movies were so childish and cheesy they don't even bare mentioning but the last two were the best of all the comic adaptions even if they break from the original stories.

Red State: decent thriller/horror film even though some of the acting was quite bad. Enjoyed the ending. 7/10

I love this film. Liam Neeson is SOOOO bad ass in it. As I was watching I started wondering how cool would it be to see Liam Neeson play an old James Bond in an upcoming 007 movie

Captain America: The First Avenger

I thought this was going to be Green Lantern part 2, but was very pleasantly surprised. Wasn't even annoyed that much by the patriot thing. The origin story was very well done and the villain rocked.

Poppers Penguins 1/10

Given that its got Jim Carrey in it I thought it might have few good laughs, however i was extremely disappointment. This movie was horrible for me, didnt even have that "feel good" feeling that I usually get from family movies, it was just plain stupid. But my 5 and 6 year old nephews loved it. They were laughing their heads off when the penguins were shitting. So I guess they hit their target audience.

Drive - 9/10 OK so the material isn't original but it's presented in a fresh and exciting way.

The Guard - 7/10 Entertaining enough because of Gleeson but expected a bit more.

Assassination Games - 5/10 Somebody here gave it a 10 and I was encouraged to download. Big mistake ..it's a very sub-par B movie...not the worst but Scott Adkins was wasted in this film.

Arena - 6.5/10 A better example of what a B movie should be. Nudity, violence and buckets of blood. It helps that Samuel L. Jackson was hamming it up too.

Cars 2 - 3/10

This is by far the worst Pixar movie ever made. I hope this isnt a sign to come now that Disney has taken over Pixar because it reeks of the typical dumbed down animated movies Disney makes.

Drive - 9/10 - i very rarely give a 9. this was a great cinematic experience. perfect soundtrack and intensity.

Cars 2 - 6.5/10 - worst pixar i've seen..but...good fun

Kung Fu Panda 2 - 7/10 - entertaining. really nice animation

Poppers Penguins - 6/10
