Return of the Jedi 7/10

after watching all the films for nth time, but just one thing

did I just see Christensen in return pf the jedi???!! Jesus save us all...

the dilemma 5/10 - not good comedically but the story was decent, realistic to the situation... i think. it may have been a good idea and with great cast but just didnt deliver. sorry.

bodysong - 7/10 - cool film. all music and video no words, but it's about the body from birth to death and beyond so it's worth seeing.

SLC punk - 7/10 - i've seen it before, years ago, but i just re-watched it and i think it rivals american history x, and very similar in plot. different situations though.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 - 7/10 - I kinda hated the way the movies gradually got darker but they seem to have got to a point where it's actually just dark enough. This is the first time in ages that I reall enjoyed a Harry Potter movie. Still don't quite know what the fuck they're on about but that's magic for you.

Season of the Witch - 6/10 - Nick Cage has become a joke and this movie while watchable only goes to show bad the decline has gotten.

Faster - 7/10 - Action sequences suck but overall it's an enjoyable revenge movie.

Limitless - 7/10 - I don't usually like voiceovers in movies but I really liked this movie, the story was awesome but the book ending seems a bit better.

Sucker Punch - 6/10 - I wanted to like this because the critics didn't but I think they're right. I don't say this about a lot of movies but sometimes I don't know why but I just don't understand the point?

I felt like I'm one of those geeky fanboys this movie was aimed at but no I don't think it worked for me and has somehow made me lose a bit of faith in Mr Snyder. I would have just preferred a sci-fi, fantasy, steam-punk, action movie or even a drama about women surviving this horrible existence as strippers & prostitutes both would have been a better alternative to this thing we got. At the end I just wanted to slap someone!

Watched a 2 part french gangster movie this week:

Mesrine: Killer Instinct and
Mesrine: Public Enemy Number 1

Both awesome. Sometimes it feels a bit unrealistic, but on the other hand, in Holland we have this saying that the brave own half the world so that might explain some. And besides, it IS based on a real gangster.

Both movies: 8/10

The Eagle (2011)
A Roman commander who is discharged from the army after being seriously injured from a very cool battle to defend a fort from the Nordic savages, sets out on a quest with a slave to enter deep behind enemy lines to restore honour to his family and recover the Golden Eagle which was lost to the enemy when his father's legion was wiped out in an earlier battle.

Within 10 or 15 minutes in you're watching some nice battle action and I thought the whole movie was was pretty good. I might watch it again when the bluray rip comes out.
The only black spot for me was that a couple of bits of the dialogue seemed too contemporary for the period of the movie.

The Rite (2011)
A weak attempt at an exorcism movie involving a couple of priests, one of whom is a non-believer in exorcism, and an evil spirit.
