Bug (2006) - a solid 8/10
By accident saw this movie on TV last night. And it was simply WTF. Could not turn my tv off, cause i just was hooked and wanted to see what happens next. I don't really get the Horror classification, because it really wasn't scary or anything. It was most definetly a psychological thriller.
Must see movie i say ! Not my favorite movie at all but it's worth a 8/10 for sure IMO.
Rarely do i find any good new(new to me) movies on TV to watch lol

Red - 6/10 - Good fun, plenty of unused potential. This is how you do an entirely forgettable but enjoyable while it lasts shooting flick. Moldova sucks.

Skyline - 2/10

God, what a pathetic excuse for a movie. :facepalm:

The entire time, I felt like I was watching a ripoff of Cloverfield. But where Cloverfield created suspense, Skyline was simply boring. The acting was shitty, but it's not like we were expecting anything better. The thing that pisses me off the most, is how this movie is 90 minutes long, and they spent the first hour in that apartment, and the remaining minutes on the roof. The aliens were a joke, since they look like they were taken from Crysis ( :wub:

) but their heads looked like fucking disco monsters.

Epic scenes:
- Quest: Get to the water as quietly as possible. Solution: Use a freakin' Ferrari!
- I loved how one out of the thousand stealth bombers was able to fire one measly missle, and it brought the entire mothership down.
- Shooting 50 ft. monsters with machineguns brings them down in 2 seconds.
- Need to hide? Why not go to a fucking bathroom with no mirrors?

I felt like I was being raped.

The Aviator - 9/10 - It's packed with everything! It's frantic! It's fabulous! It's airplanes and movies and stars! It's roaring! And then suddenly it's too quiet and terribly lonesome. How awful must it be for a mind to slip away so. Loved it.

Inception - 9.5/10

I don't know what to say about this except that it's one of the greatest films I've ever had the pleasure of watching. To make something that complex yet still followable is just genius. I'm still in shock at it all it was that good. I'll be watching it again sometime soon I think, absolutely loved it.

Monsters - 8/10 - As far as these 'realistic' and low budget movies go, this one was very very good! Didn't care much for the politics as they felt forced as they usually do. But those moments were few and far between.

Otherwise there was very little wrong about the film, really captured the 'alien apocalypse: 5 years later life just goes on' feel. A pleasant surprise. Possibly the exception to the rule that all things indie and the like are shitty. Would love a sequel, perhaps bigger in scope but still low key like this.

Also two things, is it just me or the end and beginning don't match (abandoned gas station, no lights X lights, houses) + wouldn't it make sense for the army to plug the unmanned gap (or gaps, assuming there were more) in the wall? Unless everything got way out of hand I guess. Just a thought.

A solid 8/10. The whole not so original part.. well that was intentional. You know superman and metropolis.. metroman.. You get it right?

His father being a complete rip from Marlon Brando.

Loved it. The music made it that much better as well.

Will Farrell was born to do voice over work for these sorts of movies, he was fantastic. It was a waaaaay better finished product with the 'bad guy becomes good theme' than that crappy Despicable Me.

I liked the characters and the humour was great especially between Matt & Jeff but didn't really like the rest of the whole thing.

Cosmos - 10/10 - The TV series. I'm no stupid Sagan lulzatheist marijuana fanboy or anything, but this is perfection. Even if one does not buy into the philosophy behind it (I confess I do!), about how precious life is, how valuable knowledge is, how one day we will hopefully go to the stars, well even if you don't, then just the way it presents science is wonderful, playful and understandable. The super duper Vangelis cosmo synthesizer music is awesome too.

This and Planet Earth ought to be required viewing in schools.
