Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps - 7.5/10

I had mixed feelings about this one at first. The thing that pissed me off right from the start was the part of Gordon Gekko's daughter, which was never mentioned in the first movie (but was obviously written in just so they could have a plot for the second). The first hour was pretty boring, then things picked up. Quickly. Another strong performance by Michael Douglas, Josh Brolin awesome as always, and Shia LaBeouf prooves he's capable of more than just running away from robots. Nice storyline about the global economy today, and a pretty decent twist. I loved it, however, the overall happy ending kind of killed it for me.

And seeing Eli Wallach brought a tear to my eye.

Well!

Isn't a movie, but it's the last seen in a while :p

Monty Python's Flying Circus Season 1-4

GREAT comedy, if you haven't seen this series but seen the movies, you have missed something great !

It get's an 9/10 from me. I could reach 10/10 if it hasn't been for the disaster season 4.. The last season is  ~ 2h 30min, 4h less than the previous season, and the quality of the jokes etc is not even close to the elegance of the 3 previous seasons.. Did at the first episode of the 4 season see that something was missing, and that thing missing was John Cleese..

They should have stopped at the third season, oh dear oh dear...

That being said, apart from the last season, it's the best comedy show ever made !

The Legend of Awesomest Maximus - 2.5/10

A few laughs, lots of boobs. Kristanna Loken.

Resident Evil: That Latest One - 2/10 - This is just wrong. On so many levels. The one single semi decent thing about it was the music, hence the two. Nothing else. Absolutely nothing.

Despicable Me: 9/10

I loved this so much, funny and clever though im a big fan of animation movies.

Inception: 10/10

This movie became my favourite movie of all times, watched it three times already and Im still loving it so so much. Class acting and an awesome storyline.

The Book Of Eli: 2/10

Now this pissed me off, im not a religious man neither an athiest but this movie was all about religion. I could go into detail but i'll just rate it. Only reason it got a 2/10 is because im a sucker for post apocalyptic movies.

On several occasions I felt like  :-O

Your ratings are low compared to the texts guiding them.

Are there any movies you give 8s, 9s or 10s?

Well, I usually consider a 5/10 the average of the movies I see. For me, personally, it takes more than a few twists in the movie or an inventive plot to make me give something larger than 7. I consider an 8 to be a movie, that was good for its genre or theme.

And I consider a 10/10 to be the greatest movie of all time. The movie would have to reach me and touch me on a deep level (This sounds gay) for me to give it a 10 or a 9. In my opinion a 10/10 can't have any flaws, boring moments or anything like that. And a movie like this would never get a 10/10 in average, because the target group would have to be very specific.

I know it might seem low if you use IMDB's standards. In my opinion IMDB's ratings are way too high. Take a movie with a rating below 5 and you'll find it unwatchable. + IMDB's ratings usually rank crime- and mystery movies way higher than say an action movie. And with the amount of crime- and mystery movies that the movie industry produces at the moment, I find it rather strange that they'd rank them this high.
In my opinion IMDB is way too pretentious and doesn't value entertainment high enough.

And I gave Wall-e an 8!

Makes sense. I guess for me it's all just 1 point higher; 7 = enjoyable 8 = truly good 9 = great 10 = impossible.

I tend to rate movies a 7,5 a lot

I usually rate them above average aswell (meaning 5 or more). I'm not picky that much, a movie really has to piss me off to rate it badly. My vote history. I do rate a lot of movies .5 tho, which is something I miss about IMDb.

Well, as long as it isn't 100% ignorantly telling about how good Christianity is, then why would you hate it?
I actually liked it very much, would give it a 6-7/10.
It's not like the movie is fundamentalistic or anything.

Cyrus - 6/10

A very light comedy/drama, maybe above average a bit, but pretty boring.

Good movie, definitely not for everyone I guess.

Totally agree there, the dialogue seem to be written by an english slang professor but its still fun to se someone do something new.

Id give it 7/10 or 7.5

The Other Guys

-10/10

Will Ferrel is a useless unfunny shitty actor who really needs to get a grip, he is not funny in any way at all and the script and delivery in this movie by Wahlberg and Ferrel was an absolute joke.

Possibly the worst movie I have seen in a long long time.

Avoid at all costs, if you find this movie funny you really need to sort your head out.

I hate it when a movie tries so so hard to be funny and fails miserably.

Sorry you feel that way :\

The good thing about the brain etc is that everyone is uniqe, and has different tastes when it comes to movies. I though it was funny and yet entertaining, but hey, not the worst movie this year

And don't forget, Will Ferrell is the most overpaid actor.. And Eddie Murphy is in 2nd :sly:

haha. I didn't quite feel strongly enough about the film to compare it to the horrors of watching Mamma Mia (aaaahhh), but i too was very disappointed with the film. Was not very funny (if funny at all) and the whole first 30mins was a catastrophe. Not sure what they tried to achieve with this.

Ferrel can be ok...rarely. He's like an American version of Ricky Gervais; both have dull, odd personalities ,but something in their non-acting makes them occasionally funny.

I actually found him ok in Anchorman but that's about it, tried to like him but it might just be his freaky curly hair lol

I just cant trust a man with a perm like hairstyle

Never knew Jim Carrie could pull that role off, hence never watching it until now. The acting was very impressive and story was good but the whole "inside the head" part just didn't work for me.
