The Boat That Rocked 7/10

Not all too bad of a movie really, not the kind of movie that I usually watch but it had some laughs, a good feeling through the movie, atleast for me.

Robin Hood 6/10 but only because I have always liked Robin Hood. If not I would give it lower.
Expected sooooooooooooo much more from Crowe and Scott. I was thinking Gladiator set in Sherwood forrest. What I got was more like Robin and the Lost Boys

Speak - 9/10 - I've always liked Kristen Stewart I don't know why. Developed a little crush on her after seeing her in Adventureland but I think the real reason I like her is cause she plays incredibly cool angsty teens and no one seems to do it better than her.
Speak is by far the best thing I've seen her do, she carries the whole movie with just the expressions on her face and she was really young a mere 14 during this so it's even more amazing. I really can't fault this movie I loved everything about it especially the absolutely perfect ending. Damn good movie this!

Robin Hood - 6/10 - Well I found myself having much more fun than I would have expected! Though I was disappointed by several things.

I thought they tried to tackle several elements at once to the detriment of the whole. The main line with Robin and Marion was fun, but others were not really all that interesting (big battles), only skimmed the surface (the politics), or were outright bad (THE KIDS OH GOD WHY?!).

But a good watch overall and to my surprise I really enjoyed the new take on the story.

Cellular - 7/10 - This is a really stupid movie but an entertaining one. All the secondary characters are absolute idiots & arseholes, each one so incredibly infuriating which is the point I guess and it works. Each scenario is way too convenient for added tension, e.g. she escapes just as they're coming back lol. Still I found myself screaming at the damn TV and even though it's incredibly lame and one huge advertisment for Nokia, I got caught up and enjoyed it.

Centurion - 7/10 - It's alright. I think we have strangely high expectations with these type of movies now and expect them all to be big epic things and this isn't but I don't think that makes it bad.

The Accidental Husband - 5/10 - Felt like I'd seen this exact movie very recently only done way better and that's probably why I'm rating it so low. It's not funny, it's barely entertaining and even for a romcom it's pretty crap. Uma Thurman is OK in this and that's about as much praise as I can give it.

It's an independent movie from Sundance so that's prolly why it has the made for TV look. Glad I'm not the only one who liked it although saying that, it has had overwhelmingly positive reviews on imdb.

MacGruber - 6/10 - Now I might be retarded but I actually had some pretty decent fun throughout the movie! Not enough though. I don't mind fuck/stick celery up your ass/stupid jokes but I thought a MacGyver parody could do much, much more. Not familiar with the original SNL or whatever stuff. But I expected a stupid comedy and in the end I laughed and that's what counts I guess.

Untouchables - 7/10 - Well I don't know but I kinda expected, you know, a classic or something. Instead I got a fun and well done flick, sure, but hardly one I will look forward to rewatching at some point in the future. It felt kinda rushed and shallow at times, not using all its potential. Also how Connery could get an Oscar for his 'Oh laddie I'm a veteran cop and I'll teach you to be a good cop *cut* Och I die!' routine is beyond me. Still a pretty good film, just the built up expectations were way too high for the final outcome.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World Not going to give it a */10 rating but it's an amazing film! It's properly inventive, looks and sounds fantastic, it's incredibly funny and witty and has lots of little nods to other films, video games and bits of pop culture that are rewarding when you realise you know where they're from. A very different film from Inception but I'd rate it alongside that as the joint-best film I've seen so far this year.

the ending -10s before the credits- was too cryptic
