Expendables - 7/10 - Really enjoyed the action scenes and fights, a rare thing for me, and I was entertained throughout. The only disappointment was that it was a well done 80s action flick made with the 21st century in mind rather than a huge tribute to the movies of old.

Imagine if they picked all the stars of the 80s and 90s and made a magnificent homage to all the action flicks. A bit of tongue in cheek self deprecating fun coupled with serious badassery. The church scene times thousand.

The Expendables 6/10

Highly entertaining, but nothing to write home about. Nicely choreographed action, good 80's feel to it.

The Disappearance of of Alice Creed 6.5/10

Good little british movie, was defo surprised, excellent camera work and set, solid acting and nice little plot twists all over it. Not a must see by far but still decent, the art of this film reminded me a lot of "Shallow Grave" (though Shallow Grave is infinetly better than Alice Creed).

The Expendables - 7/10 - It's funny that I was complaining about Pantomime villainy in my last review cause this is possibly the most extreme example of it I've seen in a very long time. A sillier movie I haven't seen in years still it is pretty good, not great though. I think I'd have liked it to be slightly longer and have slightly better fight scenes I mean I was kinda disappointed by the Jet-Li Dolph fight but overall good effort great concept and it could run for years, different actions stars every decade.

MacGruber (2010) - It's supposed to be a McGyver spoof but it was really underwhelming (very lame) and I couldn't even finish it.

The Other Guys (2010) - A much better comedy. Even though two of the funniest characters (Samuel Jackson and The Rock) should have had bigger parts, Whalberg ,Ferrell, Michael Keaton and Eva Mendez all have good comic talent and there are quite a few laughs in this movie.

The Lost Room - 8/10 - Brilliant miniseries. A point or two off for the made for TV feel but otherwise it's a great mystery story with solid acting and a few jokes thrown in for good measure. Gotta love that they came up with a reasonably fresh story and mechanics regarding the objects and enigmas and whatever - as opposed to convoluted and nauseating pseudomysteries that don't go anywhere (hey Lost!).

Without A Paddle - 5/10 - Wow this was just awful. It plays like a made for TV kids movie, has all the same lame slapstick humour and silly life message. Absolute waste of time this one.

300 - 6/10 - Not as fun as I thought I remembered it. I mean it's great with all the cgi action and whatever but I kinda remembered it was better... but it isn't. Still good enough to rewatch from time to time I suppose.

I hated the previous movies, only watched this one for the lulz, i laughed so hard in most of the scenes... The dialog is stupid, and its the same shit for 2 hours. The scene in the tent is epic, haha xD

S.W.A.T - 6/10 - It starts off as a pretty decent movie although it feel like one I've seen before. It really goes downhill once that prisoner makes the $100 million dollar offer then it becomes silly. I mean seriously who would take the chance that of going to jail for life merely because a criminal made a promise that given that he's a criminal he may choose not to honour or for all we know is incapable of honouring. Good cast wasted by a bad script.

The Pillars of the Earth eps 1&2 - 7/10 - Not a movie but after two episodes I'm kinda hooked. Too bad it feels much less realistic than Rome or the Tudors in that its subplots are basically random stories with little connection to what historical events the series portrays. But otherwise it's a pretty solid show from them medieval times and that's just fine.

Well I was just surprised how a movie that is "just awful" and an "absolute waste of time" gets rated 5/10, which one would presume is exactly halfway between bad and good. What does a 3/10 movie look like then? Or indeed a 1/10 one.

Suicide Girls Must Die - 6/10 - It's a weird movie this one. I'm not even sure it is one but I kinda enjoyed it. It's very silly, it purports to be a reality horror movie. I don't think anyone in it is a real actress and it seems like an excuse to promote the Suicide Girl brand more than anything. Still I kinda enjoyed the set up, I'm not a fan of Alt-girls at all, tats aren't sexy to me in the least but when a girl is hot you can't hid it under ink. There's a lot of nudity in this and that's probably the real reason I kinda liked it. The ending really sucks though.

5 is the beginning of my shit scale. I don't really rate movies 1/10 cause I now won't force myself to sit through something that bad. What would rate that low? Stuff I used to kinda like as kid, Low budget shit that looks like it was filmed on camcorder by amateurs, watch the horror channel any day of the week and troma stuff. The lowest I tend to give a mainstream movie that I make it all the way through is 4.

An "OK" Action/Comedy ! Some hilarious scenes and some beyond retarded scenes.

When he assembled his team in the van, then blew it up with homemade C4 = Hilarious
The aftermath of the explosion, in the General's office.. The " I'll fuck anything segment " = Hilarious

MacGruber don't play like homie, and homie don't play that game.

Dog Pound 7/10

Real good juvenile penetentiary flick, can defo roll with the best (like Bad Boys, the Sean Penn one)! Goldstar for whoever did the casting, haven't seen such great youth actors in quite a while! Minus points for the obligatory rape scene, of course things like that happen in a penetentiary, but come on, 90% of prison movies got one, we get the idea -.-

It's slow and definitely not for everyone but I really liked it.
