Powder Blue - 7/10 - It's a weird film and I'm not entirely sure I liked it. I was intrigued by it, the people are all strange and incredibly lonely tragic figures. It's pretty much sad all the way through. It's not a great film and doesn't really have a great story but it's OK and then of course Jessica Biel is naked and that is such a fucking spectacular sight it is by far the biggest highlight of the whole movie, I don't think there could be a better advertisement for working out than watching that gym honed body of hers..

Yeah I thought it was superb. I also just downloaded Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. I'm not sure if I've seen it though it was released in 1993 so if I have I've long since forgotten about it.
I haven't bought comics in quite a while, I always tended to like DC animation and Marvel Comics but when the mood takes me I do occasionally download them, they're way too expensive to buy :lol:

I thought it was going to be a shitty Mr & Mrs Smith rip off, but it was fairly entertaining with a good few laughs.

Repo Men - 4/10 - Watchable but meh. Liked the premise and the idea of the setting but not the direction it took from there. The whole company agents/crazy folks with axes and saws schizophreny (i.e. that big fight) was kinda weird. Also felt a bit cheap.

Great if you can get past the 5 hour total combined runtime...wow the chinease may make cheap products but they also make some of the most stunning cinematography

Batman: Mask Of The Phantasm - 7/10 - Good but I'd have probably given it a higher mark had I not seen Batman: Under the Red Hood first.

Star Trek III: The Search For Spock - 7/10 - Another solid Trek feast.

10,000 B.C - 6/10 - Not very good at all, should be epic but it's a bit of a mess.

The Holiday - 6/10 - Even though I'm a guy I can enjoy a Romcom but this is beyond mushy, it's just too much.

Repo Men - 7/10 - Interesting, kinda liked the ending although I felt somewhat cheated. It's an OK movie but it should have been great.

Scum (1979) - 8/10 - Incredibly intense movie. It's really hard to believe the kind of abuse they put these boys through in these Borstals and the torture these kids had to endure. This movie is just brutal.

Birth (2004) - 8/10 - Ending fucks it up a bit cause the lead up is just fantastic. I had visions of how it could end but how it actually ends is kind of a cop out. Anyway the film is unsettling which I enjoyed and great performances all round plus Nicole Kidman has the most beautiful face so it's no wonder the director gave her so many lingering close ups. Good stuff.

Deliver Us From Evil - 8/10 - I'd only heard bits and pieces of reports about the Catholic Church's treatment of priests it knew were abusing children so this documentary really opened my eyes. I genuinely cannot fathom how you can find out someone is abusing children and your only response is to move them to another area where they can continue to abuse more children. These people are scumbags including the bloody pope.

Death at a Funeral (US) 4/10

Not as good as the UK one, I would give the UK one a 7/10 so this one fell short. I feel as though the British are so much better at the dark comedy thing, where as with this movie it was full of famous comedians (Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence, Tracy Morgan) known for a more light heated type of comedy, so watching them in this was just a bit awkward / not that funny.

Ghost Writer - 8/10 - That was magnificent really. Superb cinematography, atmosphere, fitting music, great suspense. The last twenty minutes or so were slightly worse as they were different from the really cold atmosphere of the rest of the movie, but also the pacing and resolution felt a bit off - the revelation at the end didn't really seem like a perfect fit to the tension up to that point.

Oh and it would make for one hell of an adventure game!

Predators - 6/10 - Great cast and Predators should mean a fairly decent movie but I found it lacking, so much so that I was actually bored by it. Big Disappointment.

Career Opportunities - 5/10 - The unbelievably bad piece of shit comes from John Hughes, which is a huge surprise. There's just none of that Hughes magic here, the story sucks, the acting is crap and I had to struggle to get to the end of this one. I say this so often it's sad but the film's only redeeming feature is Jennifer Connelly and that amazing rack she had back then. I admit it I'm a perv. :lol:
