White Lightnin - 8/10

i didn't expect much but got suprised by this one. it's fast forward, shocking, terrifying and is best watched on a steamy hot evening in a room without air conditioning.

Brick - 7/10 - I'm going through a Joseph Gordon Levitt phase right now and Brick comes well reviewed. It's neo-noir film set in a high school which sounds silly but is actually done really well. I couldn't quite keep pace with storyline not entirely sure if it was merely me but overall the film was pretty damn good.

Elephant - 7/10 - It's not great and that's partly the fault of the actors who don't seem to be actors and partly the fault of the director who lets scenes linger a bit too long for my liking but I guess that's the point as it's supposed to be an ordinary day, plus there were a few unrealistic things about the shooting itself. But overall it's watchable and given that you know how it's all gonna end the build up is quite intense.

Annapolis - 5/10 - The movie is kind of an embarrassment. I expected it to take itself seriously. Great opportunity for an excellent military movie instead it plays out like a TV movie, a poor Rocky, Karate kid style rip-off with romance. It's sad really, the ending is even worse than you expect. It's a piss poor childish film but I seldom see Jordana Brewster & she is sooo gorgeous it almost� makes this watchable.

The Losers - 4/10 - Not enough cool awesomo action for it to be a cool awesomo action flick, not enough witty comedy banter for it to be a witty comedy... with banter... erm. Especially the latter is a bad thing since when they did do it, they did it really well. But watchable enough.

oh and:
24 s1-s6+redemption - 6/10 - The show has continued to improve ever so slightly with every season (s6 was a bit contrived though) but it's the same old story (well... literally, you could say!) with Jack Bauer being really badass and some random dudes in the background having office romances and behaving like idiots or whatever BS they throw at you. Should have been more Jack, less supporting characters, less episodes/seasons as the plots get a bit old. But yeah I keep watching it which is more than I can say for other shows I guess!

Clash of the Titans - 3/10 - Well uh... sure it was fun as far as cgi fuelled action flicks go, but supposedly cool scenes just don't cut it for me anymore. It felt very disjointed, rushed, two dozen characters were shown on screen only for them to disappear or die in five seconds. It felt more like a clip show, episodes from a series cut into a feature film, rather than a heroic epic which I kinda hoped it might be (even if augmented greatly by 21st moviemaking things like 'cool cgi').

Saint John of Las Vegas 7/10 nice little movie with Buscemi, enjoyed it.

Killers 6/10 seen it all but still I like kutcher and knockup girl.

The Black Hole - 5/10 - I don't know what it is exactly about old movies, particularly ones made before the 80s, that I don't like but I just don't find the acting style, musical scores, dialogue or storytelling as good as modern movies. The Black Hole just sorta reinforces my prejudice, but on top of that this isn't good sci-fi, it isn't a good film at all imo. The ending is just annoying, I can't believe that's their view of what's inside a black hole.

No sir I didn't like it.

Sexy Beast - 8/10 - Don't know why I waited so long to see this. It is epic. Kingsly character is terifying but the whole cast is just wonderful. Loved every minute of it.

Lots of mweh mweh mweh, some alright CGI but the movie relies way to much on it, story is dull, characters have no story much at all and not to say alot of typical holywood stuff tha really made me go, no man this movie aint it.

Predators - 8/10 - I didn't expect it to be so good! Some awkward story/character moments but the predator killing action was pretty cool. A very pleasant surprise.

The Last Airbender - 0/10

Was actually painful to watch, It was hard enough not falling asleep...and at the end i saw "Directed by M Night Shyamalan", and it all became clear. Honestly this movie seemed like a B- Disney kids movie, oh and was probably the worst movie ever in 3D

Clash of teh Titans 4/10 - So disapointed ! Rather boring fights, no large epiq battles... all the carracters gets killed within seconds of every fight. Only worth watching for Sam Worthington and Mads Mikkelsen.

Saint John of Las Vegas 5/10 - This one didn't really do it for me either, but you gotta love Buscemi, great actor.

Date Night 6/10 - Pretty entertaining imo, and I love Steve Carell.

Not really my kind of movie, too many "how did that just happen" moments where the camera just pans away and you see the result, mix that in with mindless action, a cheesy plot and you have got a mediocre (at best) action movie.
