Cop Out  4/10  Lame movie, felt like a 80's cops movie but done bad. Never expected this from Smith

Little Manhattan - 7/10 - Very sweet movie, bit too heavy on the voice-over narration but otherwise it was pretty nice.

The Crazies - 7/10 - Much better than I expected, good acting, solid scares, great story with a nice smidge of hopelessness.

Cop Out - 3/10 The soundtrack kept this movie alive, otherwise I found it hard to concentrate, didn't really go anywhere.

The Fisher King  not my movie, and not my fav director.  4/10

Solomon Kane 7/10
Did a decent job keeping the feel of the charactor of the books and did it with what I would assume was a rather modest budget. But then again I may be biased as he was by far my favourite Howard character...far more interesting and complex than Conan IMO

The Lookout - 7/10 - I'm told Joseph Gordon Levitt chooses quality projects and if this is anything to go by it's true.

All The Boys Love Mandy Lane - 6/10 - It's not awful but it isn't very good plus I can't really work out the characters, are they just douchebags for the sake of it.

Wag The Dog - 7/10 - Interesting, think it could have been more ambitious though but still worth a look if just for Hofman's performance and Anne Heche was hot.

Eden Lake - 8/10 - Jesus Christ. Absolutely terrifying. What's wrong with these people! I was expecting sorta run of the mill horror but something about this just seemed so plausible and what an ending. Fucking chavs!

I just watched Banlieue 13 (13th District) and I liked it very much. Nice little actionfilm with nice moves. Especially parkour was prilliant and I really enjoyed those parts. After all a good actionfilm. No I just need to find the sequel.

She's Out of My League - 8/10

I loved it. Predictable, but funny and fun to say the least. Being Rated R certainly helps.

Cop Out - 5.5/10

Average buddy cop action comedy. Tracy Morgan is cool, as always.

Gah, so hard to see irony over the net, and i sure as hell hope this is! Watching it right now, one of my all time favs, Michael Mann knows how to make crime movies EDIT: BAH i thought it's reading -8 -.- Hurr Durr!

Same as above (not the irony bit), love this one as well, only solid appereance of Tom Cruise in a movie, ever.

Recently watched Ex Drummer, seriously don't have the slightest idea how to rate this one, it made a tremendous impression on me, but i can't really sayf  that i enjoyed it, more of a ride into uncharted waters. The fact that it made an impression and was cinematically splendid i give this hellride of a movie an
8/10
was really something else. Wish i'd seen it in original dub! Literally breathtaking Finale!

Just a random post with some must-sees (of which some are quite predictable) and some other recommendations. I tried to put in some less known movies and not say the obvious movies which are in everybody's top 25.

The Truman Show 9/10   Very amusing, interesting, original and a good Jim Carrey movie where he doesnt play an idiot.
Inside man 9/10  Starring Clive Owen, bank robbery movie but damn what a good one.
Memento 9/10    I dont think it needs no introduction and 95% of people on the internet have seen it. Original style of telling the story, addictive plot, good acting. Solid as a brick.
Fight Club 9/10    Starring Edward Norton and Brad Pitt. Also seen by 95% on the internet. I wont say more about it, watch it if u havent yet.
The Usual Suspects 8-8,5/10    Good crime/mystery movie. Good plot, not too special, just a good solid movie.
The Boondock Saints 8-8,5/10    Good action/crime movie. Action, combined with an insanely well acting Willem Dafoe makes the movie.
Donnie Darko 9,5/10     Dark mystery movie. Every person should have watched this in his/her life.
The Big Lebowski 9/10    Just an epic good movie. Go watch it. John Goodman is awesome.
Gattaca 8,5/10     Ethan Hawke in a good sci-fi.
Lock, Stock and the Two Smoking Barrels9/10      A Guy Ritchie directed movie, very enjoyable and funny, same kind of style as Snatch and Revolver (both also directed by Guy Ritchie).

Some late-seen movie or other which I can remember and are worth watching

Closer 7,5/10     Kind of a harsh romance/drama with amazing star cast: Clive Owen, Julia Roberts, Jude Law, Natalie Portman. Clive Owen being awesome, others were average. If you have seen all the others movies from my post, you should watch it. It keeps the attention and is ok.
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind 8/10    Kind of psychological/philosophical romance movie with Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet and some other famous actors. Interesting movie.
Stranger than fiction 7/10    Mystery/comedy starring Will Ferrell in a more serious role. Only if u are really bored should u see it, otherwise not.
The Illusionist 8/10      Starring Edwart Norton. I have seen this movie shortly after or before the prestige and they have some comparisons so I cant really distinguish them anymore. Worth seeing.
The Prestige 8/10       Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale. Worth seeing.
Shutter Island  8/10     With Leonardo DiCaprio starring a detective on an island where psychotic/mentally insane patients are held. Mystery with a nice story, I liked it a lot.

Christian Bale movies

The Machinist 7,5/10      Christian Bale in an extreme dark role. Though original, it could have been much better in execution of a plot.
American Psycho 8/10     Christian in a somewhat crime/drama. Good
Equilibrium 8,5/10    Bale this time in a sci-fi, a role which probably reminds you of the matrix. Enjoyable and well played.

List of 4 very good insanely awesome movies which every guy should see

Swingers 9/10    Starring Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau, original movie for its time, good pre-party/going out movie.
Wedding Crashers 9/10     Starring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. Good pre-party/going out movie
Old School 9/10    Starring Will Ferrell and Vince Vaughn. More of a real comedy than the 2 above here. Hilarious. Even funnier when watching it with lads.
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy 9/10        Will Ferrell and Steve Carell in a comedy. Although the humor is very easy, it's intense hilarious at points. Better when watching it with a few beers with guys.

Original in its time?
Are you saying that if a film was released now with a trailer like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5n2NXuQ5ako
and scenes such as a women being murdered by a giant porcelain dick would not be seen as original nowadays?

How you can call out CLockwork Orange for originality and then give a generic comedy like Wedding Crashers 9/10 I don't know

Cop Out - 7.5/10 - I heard lots of bad reviews for this so went in not expecting much, even though I'm a big Kevin Smith fan, but I thought it was really funny. It doesn't have the intelligent dialogue of clerks or dogma, but it still is funny throughout. I thought all the characters were done well, particularly sean william scott's drug enthusiast, parkour fan, annoying catch phrase criminal character. Tracey Jordan was decent, but hardly a saving grace and Bruce Willis was fine. It was never meant to be a serious movie and to enjoy it you need to realise that.

I agree, a real shame.

To met it felt like Smith was trying to make a movie similar to Leathal Weapon back in the day and imo he failed. But maybe it's because i know those movies that I wasn't able to enjoy this one.. I'm not sure, but I for sure don't get it.

In Bruges

Apparently what was the waste of time were reading the rest of your reviews, since you clearly dont know your ass from a hole in the ground.
