Rewatched:

Once were Warriors 9.5/10...

for its sheer intensity and impact it had on me, one of my all time favorites, straight up in my personal top 5. Everyone and their mother (especially they) should see this movie.

Excellent film! I really enjoyed this.

Heat - 9/10

Oh wow, that was awesome. I think it worked very well as a story, was filled with lovely acting, and had some brilliant cinematography, music and atmosphere as well. It seemed to lag slightly sometime after the halfway mark but who cares.

Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day - 1/10
The problem with BS part 2 is the same as with BS. About one third of this movie is random shit that Troy Duffy thinks is cool, and two thirds what he thinks is funny. This explains why absolutely no point in this entire film makes any sense. It is a montage of poorly composed scenes with no actual content as far as getting something through to the viewer goes. It is a manipulative male-induced power fantasy that tries to grasp all of it's viewers by appeasing to their childish, juvenile, animalistic desires. There are no action scenes, simply scenes in which people are shot. There is no choreography, except for that of the bullets piercing the skins of extras. This is the worst kind of film, film that I personally feel the need to completely object. It is nothing but impulsive decisions in a linear construct to no specific end. There is no poin to it's existence. This is the very definition of trash.

I loved it

It really is one of those movies that are made for a specific type of people.
It's mindless fun, and should be enjoyed as mindless fun in my opinion.

Wont write a review cause quite frankly, writing one for BS2 is like writing a review for the plate infront of me. It's a plate, I store food on it, it does its job and therefor I'm happy.

I tried my best, trust me. It's just that the dialogue is, as you said, only to a very certain type of audience. It isn't necessarilly the lack of content thereof that truly bothers me, or would bother me, but because the dialogue is so void and unfunny that I can't even enjoy it on a primitive anecdotal level of going "that's a funny joke right there". I just really do not consider it funny when a normal sentence is said, but with several cuss words added here and there, especially when their placement isn't particularily witty or so, they're just there seemingly to please this twelve year old-like train of thought where swearing is funny even if it serves no particular comedic point.

Then there's the action scenes, which is generally easier to be enjoyed as mindless fun, but there are two primary issues that I have with being able to enjoy the action in Saints II. First of all, there is no build-up. Honestly, when 90% of the film's dialogue is either joking or describing action or the internal affairs of the mafia, there is no room for charecterisation. The assumption that this film makes is that because these two brothers are relatively nice guys we should automatically care for what events occur towards them in these firefights, and I can't help but greatly disagree with that. I want the movie to make me care about these people, and since all the dialogue is spent on the things I mentioned earlier, it never gets around to making me give a damn about practically anyone involved.

The second problem I have with the action is that they're just so poorly made. I love good old-fashioned well-choreographed stuff like Woo flicks or The Matrix even, but this... this is not action. The scenes with gunfire in Boondock Saints II consist of three guys standing or sloooowly walking or sliding across the floor in slow motion while shooting other people who are worse shooters than stormtroopers based on how well they shoot two targets who most of the time just stand in the middle of an open space. It becomes so boring and trite that despite essentially making the best action possible out of these scenes, the movie never succeeds in actually being exciting or actually fun to look at. In my opinion saying that the action scenes in this movie are fun equals that it would also be fun to just listen to techno and see people being shot, which in of itself is a rather disturbing statement.

But yeah, some people do love these movies, and I'm kind of okay with that. I mean whenever I see a bad flick, I tend to think that I would love being one of those people who liked it because then I would've enjoyed it. But alas, I am not and therefore must whine of the subject matter online. Also, about the plate. If the plate breaks, you would review that. To me, Boondock Saints II is a plate in a million pieces.

@ WMFSodomy

First Off: Nicely written. Will write this in spoiler tag for the sake of...well minor spoilers incoming I guess:

I agree that the shoot outs are weird and filled with stormtroopers, but I think that's the point. Granted, movie numero 1 made it clearer with the rope scene and whatnot. The brothers are on a mission from a higher power, be it God or the Devil diguised as God, mainpoint being, they are protected by a higher power. Therefore the stormtrooper effect. Or atleast that's how I interpret it.

Otherwise, yes the movie tries to be funny way too much. Only good oneliner was the "I'm so smart I make smart people look retarded" And that's mostly because of the accent.

And now back to the topic:

Astroboy 6/10

Didn't really know what to expect. But if you like Toy Story and the like you should check this movie out, the jokes are actually quite fun and fits both young and childish adults. It gets abit muchy mush mush from time to time, but it works.

Leaves of Grass 7/10

Could've been a great movie, not my cup of tea though. Great actors though, reason why I give it 7 instead of 6. One of those must see movies IMO.

Killer Bean Forever (2009)

This is a cool animated movie about some badass walking/talking Beans who are either cops, gangsters or assassins.

There is plenty of great gun action and kungfu fighting which leaves a huge body count.

What I also liked was the serious face the Beans put on while delivering their cliche cops and mobster dialog from old classic action movies.
If the same words were being spoken by human actors now this would be cheesy, but it's actually captivating and hilarious at the same time because it's coming from the Beans.

The quality of the 3D animation is excellent for a low budget movie and the music being used is perfect for adding the right type of atmosphere to an over the top action movie.

A couple of things that could have improved it is that the backgrounds were plain and needed more texture and detail and also there wasn't any population around considering this takes place in a big city. It didn't bother me too much though.

I really liked it and the dance scene in the beginning is  .    7.5/10

Up in the Air 7.5/10

the script is great, it has a couple of funny moments and george clooney is awesome, but left me wnating more for some reason

Precious 9/10

wow, this movie really surprised me, I knew the plot outline but I never expected it to be so gut-wrenching. There are some scenes where I almost cried, definitely recommended

Das Leben der Anderen (The Lives of Others) - 9/10

I've had it for a long time and put off watching it because the subtitles are so quick it got annoying.  Anyways, I'm really glad I watched it because it is a really great movie.  It also has one of the coolest endings I've ever seen.

Goodfellas - 7/10

Tough to rate, the last part of the movie felt like a chore more than superb entertainment (like the remaining 80 percent of the movie were). I understand it's based on a true story so there's some limitations coming from that but it would have been better if it stuck to shorter/fewer stories, or at least handled the later parts slightly better. Still most of it was highly enjoyable, shades of Godfather especially in the first half, lovely choice of music and some subtle and neat camera work.

The fact that you give Miami Vice a higher score than Up in the air just shocks me. I know it's a matter of taste and own opinion but man Miami Vice was like -26/10.

The Blind Side - I really like the movie. Great acting from the guy playing Mike. Sandra does a pretty good job too. And yeah it's one of those stories you are bound to like.

The Blind Side - 7-8/10
