I usually hate this alleged scientific fiction movies, but this movie is really crap, incredibles is much better than this one

Let The Right One In (2008)

An entertaining and haunting Vampire movie with a fresh plot. 7.5/10

There's just a couple of things that ticked me off about it that stopped me from giving it a higher score.

Firstly, why did the writers have to make the star "Eli", who looked like a girl to her companion and loyal friend, turn out to be a castrated boy?
It could have been a tender and tragic love story between the two main characters if they kept "Eli" as a girl.

Secondly, the pool scene was way over the top. Never in the movie do we see "Eli" possess that kind of strength as to rip bodies apart.
In fact, we see the opposite when she gets kicked off while feeding on a host and another time struggling to hang onto the back of a victim.
All we needed to see was "Eli" overpowering the bully and then feeding on him to save her friend.
I wish they didn't even have the pool scene. I would have preferred an outdoor night scene in the cold and maybe the bully pushing "Eli's" friend's face into the snow or something while the other two bullies watched on.

Ben X (dvd) - 7/10 - very different and could be an eye opener for some people im sure.

Total Recall (576p) - 6.5/10 - I sort of like it in parts but the effects/make-up etc were all a little dated in a bad way. Sometimes dated things can still look ok but not these.

Star Wars V (720p) - 7/10 - pretty good actually, though a few cringeworthy moments!
Star Wars VI (720p) - 7/10 - same as above pretty much. Kind of amazed though at some of the effects they achieve throughout these older star wars films.

Lord of the Rings, Fellowship of the Ring (720p) - 9.3/10 - pure brilliance as a story and as a film

The Forbidden Kingdom - 7/10 - Nice mix of very cool and incredibly lame. Still I just don't like Shia LaBeouf he annoys the hell outta me.

Fast and Furious (latest) - 6/10 - got better at the end but IMO not enough nice new cars..kinda same old ones.

The Spirit - 4/10 - in a word..poor. It was a try hard film i.e. they tried too hard to make it good and i tried too hard to keep on watching it.

Duplicity - 6.5/10 - got better as it went on. Can get a little monotonous at times.

The International - 4.5/10 - boooring! It had some pretty decent points at times and almost some relevance to the recession we are facing today, but overall it was the definition of monotonous. Shame cause i like Naomi Watts in most films.

Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (1080p) - 9.6/10 - IMO the best one of the trilogy. Some simply unbeatable and stunning visuals as well as some of the most interesting parts of the story. After seeing this at the cinema I ran home and read all the books in a couple of days.

Tyson (documentary) - 8/10 - a well done documentary which i found quite enlightening really as by the end I really quite felt for tyson in some respects. He was much brighter as a person than I thought he would - but i guess all the bad press and the occasional outburst made me think he was just a thug. Bloody unreal fighting before he went to prison the first time - definitely the best I've ever seen and in that form i couldn't see anyone in history getting close to him.

Notorious - 7.5/10 - it was enjoyable to watch and again was pretty enlightening about his character. seemed like a decent guy deep down - just always a tragedy when gangster shit takes a hold and takes young lives for no reason. Not the best film ever but an interesting story nonetheless.

Absolute Power - 7.8/10 - Clint Eastwood in another good solid film. Interesting plot that kept me entertained. Much better than that crap he made earlier this year that people seem to like somehow! lol

In the line of fire - 7.8/10 - another solid Clint film which i enjoyed!

Wedding Crashers (2nd viewing) - 7.9/10 - damn that is FUNNY! definitely one of the best modern comedies

LoTR: Return of the King - 9.5/10 - what an end to the best trilogy ever. Best book, equal best film...brilliant.
