The Good, The Bad and The Weird (2008)

A fun and entertaining Asian western with plenty of action, great visuals, quirky characters and it's well paced.

7.5/10

Seven Pounds (2008)

A slightly moving story of redemption but it drags on too much and should be cut by at least 30 minutes or 30 minutes in the middle needs a re-write.

It was only a two hour movie but it felt like 3 hours. It started off good but went flat story wise in the middle and then intensified again at the end. If I was watching it on my own I would have used the FFW button on the remote.

Reminded me of when I watched The Kite Runner for some reason! Really good film and definitely worth a watch. Hot leading actress too...always a bonus

JCVD - 7/10

Wow that was surprising. You know I expected a bitter, funny, introspective comedy. And I did get some of that. Very little, in fact. But what I did get, I liked. The rest however was a surprise.

And to be perfectly honest not one that I can appreciate a lot. It didn't really 'get me' for a lack of a better words. It was interesting, it was well done, but I would have liked a movie with those ingredients reversed - a bit of the introspective, clever, surprising approach and a great deal of satire and comedy cynicism - much more. This way I 'just' liked it.

Surveillance (2008)

A gruesome thriller about two serial killers who enjoy their handy work.

The problem is that the victims are all unlikeable characters so you don't care about them anyway. There's a twist about the identity of the killers but there's still too many plot holes in the movie to really admire it. A pity really because there is some good acting in it.

This movie is along the vein of the movie "Natural Born Killers" but the killers in "Surveillance" are much more discrete.

Watched it around a week ago and it's one of the best movie I have ever seen in my life! Amazing Movie!

Religulous: Awesome and well made movie, had some really good laughs, but that movie also made me think abit. Giving it a 9,5/10

Anyone giving Slumdog Millionaire less than 6 is kinda losing the plot or being harsh to make a point that it may not be awesomeness filmified.

Body of Lies - 7/10 - kinda good, had two of my favourite actors in it, but once again (as with loadsa hollywood things these days) the ending sucked and could have really made the film great if it had more impact or more of a conclusion

Pride and Glory - 7/10 - didnt feel that taken in by it but i can appreciate that it was a good film. There were some kinda stupid scenarios in the story which, in reality, wouldnt play out as they did here, so for that reason it lost its sense of reality in parts and therefore lost my interest a bit.

...but the whole point of the film was he was living in indian slums, not New York or London. And also about how their show is different and treated him as if he were a cheating rat.

I could say the same with Gladiator (which I love) - it would be a terrible film if they changed the scenario to modern day Gladiators on the TV show - well of course it would, cause you are changing the films purpose!

Simply Fabulous!!!

The dialogues in the movie are spectacular & thought provoking slapsticks. Only Jason Statham can carry off roles like that. With an all turning twisting plot my hat goes off to this Master piece... :w000t:

Anyways on topic: JCVD - 7.8/10. Not quite a 8 but it was a great movie! I like not having a strait timeline, and it was well written and directed. Kinda feel bad for Jean Claude not having had any like good directors or anything before, I mean all films I've seen he has been in before this have been laughable but this was very well done, maybe he just got a loot better at acting or his whole life he's had to live with retarded scripts and directors, poor fella.
