I posted this on a couple of other sites... might as well dump it here for advice/spam and a good old pisstake of my fecked up situation <3

So I cleaned the car out from top to bottom and along with half the bread in the glove box I find 2 wine gums and a bag of weed that I lost in the car about 2 months ago I'm starting to wonder if the little fucker got my weed 1st (which had a small nibble out of it) then got stoned and went on the munchies.
I have tried 2 different types of mouse trap with no success.. A friend suggested poison but that will stink if they die behind the dashboard. Another friend suggested hose pipe and gas the bastards but I think the neighbours might call someone if they see me setting up hosepipe from the exhaust to the window .
I am running out of idea's.. any suggestions to catch the little fucker? I gave him 2 days to see if he/she/they came up with more weed but no ... no more weed for me then no free stay in my car

Are you even sure there is a mouse?
How about just leaving the car doors open for a few hours and the mouse should wander out of the car..?

Its got to be a mouse, it could be getting into the car for the food then pissing off.
Traps will work just give them time, use a bit of a mars bar on it, mice love them.
But no weed, you dont want the little shit to get the munchies and eat your seats.

I tried leaving the doors open when I 1st found out and cleaned the car from top to bottom.. but seeing as the car is warmer than the outside its not going to leave by itself.
Yes there is definately a mouse.. unless someone stole my winegums and put mouse droppings on the floor of the car can't see that myself unless someone is really trying to wind me up
And if its not a mouse.. who found my weed..ate my wine gums and munched a slice of bread?
@carpy.. I am almost 100% sure its getting in through the heater hoses.. just I can't see a hole anywhere and the rest of the car is sealed (no rubber plugs are missing from the footwells and none are broken from the engine bay) Plus the fact I have a hose leaking water inside the car under the dash.
I've been finding winegums all over the place, go over a bump or smack the car hard and they fall out the dash.

I can't believe the the little whatever it is has been storing weed and munchies. Awesome. I like the little guy, sounds like he's been having a great time. His little face must've lit up when he saw a full packet of wine gums.
Taking into account his tastes and attitude, I think he'd be the perfect pet for you. Keep him.
I would take it to a valet.. they might sort it out for you

@faffer - cavalier m8 and all holes are blocked. I cannot see where the little fecker has got in. I have got to bridge the matrix but its snowing and the leak is small. I would rather live with the mouse for a few more days than drive around freezing my nuts off so I will sort that out in a few days time.
I lost that bag of weed behind the heater in my car about 2 months ago.. Did the mouse get the munchies 1st or is it payback for the winegums it took?
@ mistral ! It does sound like the ideal pet.. just if its a mouse and not a small rat.
@gomezie - I would rather try and catch the little shit myself than pay someone to take care of it.
In a week+ its only turned up with one bag of weed.. if it leaves more it can stay <3

get a terrantula (sp) and leave it in the el' cav overnight.......guarantee u wont have a mouse the next day
i wud be more inclined to think its in your engine bay or the bit where your wiper motor is.....fair size car...plenty of places to hide.
oh and get with the times ffs a CASSETTE!

going by the way this has gone.. I will end up with a stoned spider chilling with a stoned mouse eating winegums and peanut butter
shhhh.. no need for anything quality in the car regarding the sounds tapes play just fine and no one tries to take the head unit I had my eye on an DVD player head unit with 7 inch screen but I am not leaving that in an old runabout. Even the amps and sub's never got put in as I don't spend that much time in it anymore as its only used to run the kids to school and shopping trips.

I don't recommend these snap traps, there were a couple of rats in my basement and i never could catch them using snap traps, i got myself some glue tube ( for catching rats/mice.. whatever ) and made a glue trap and it worked a treat on those nasty rats .
I'd say just put a big piece of carton with glue on it on the backseat + the front footwell.
Anyways, i'd love to see the fecker getting caught, so please keep us updated

Where have you put the traps? The pic is on the seat. Also grind the trigger a bit so it will snap under the slightest pressue. Just be carful when setting them or putting them down as they #$%#$ kill if they snap your finger.
If you have not tried it yet try putting one in the glove box and also on the wheel arch and under the seat.
Also you can get sticky mats ( their called something but I cant remember) when the mouse runs over it they get stuck. You put like a piece of cookie in the middle or since you got a stoner mouse some weed and it will go to it and get stuck.

I got some more sticky traps yesterday.. going to try them tonight and rebait the classic spring one's again.
Pics are from the driver's side footwell but I put the traps under the seat last night.. the weed was removed and smoked if that little shit don't want it I was not going to let it go to waste
ta lenix.. I will check out the glue and see if my local DIY store sells it <3
I live near a big open field so if I bait outside the car I am just going to attract more IMO.

I am not adding any more animals to the car if my mrs knows a snake is in there she will not get in (that might be a plus point though )

If I could not get the weed out from behind the heater when I tried the police stood no chance.. trust me I did try at the time and the option was to take the dash off so I left it

it may take a couple of goes to catch him, but it will be worth it as you will get a warm fuzzy feeling when you release the little sod round a mates house
