@ Luun , There's not really anything you need to change as most Seedboxes are set up for Private Tracker's
You might find a site or two where you need to do the cookie thing but i have not needed to do it so far and i am a member of a lot of trackers.

You should use Filezilla for your  FTP stuff, it seem to be the darling of the FTP programs atm , and it's free.

There another FTP program i use sometimes called BitKinex , you can have more slots open than Filezilla which allows 10 max

I ditched my Seedunlimited box and got a EvoBox. They have VPS's and i find i am getting better speeds than what i got with SU and prices are pretty much the same.

I also have one of those 10GiBT slots from Feral , nothing to brag about but you do get your files very quickly, get 80MB/s often but i am more into the upload speed;-) which is more like a 1GBiT , and seems to crash a lot

This may seem like a daft question; but what happens when say for example Seedunlimited realises you are uploading copyrighted movies or what ever it may be?

A quick disconnect and no refund or would they involve authorities?

I am sure they know exactly what we are doing on these server's, they are making plenty of money out of it and so are the DC's

Not to mention they are using the titles seed, torrent etc etc, im pretty sure they know what its being used for ut just dont state the illegal part on the frontpage

Unless they get a takedown notice or whatever i doubt they care and even then most prob dont even care anyway and will refuse.

Legally I think they're fine. They're not saying anywhere "seed your pirated content" and seeding, torrents etc are not illegal, so they assume it's a legitimate client seeding his own works. Read the Terms of Service, it covers everything.

Again, torrenting is not illegal, just distribution of copyrighted materials without permission is.

I've got a trial account for seedunlimited at the moment, quite liking it although not 100% sure i need it (would certainly make managing downloads easier without having rar's all over the place mind you)

How the hell does rapidleech on there work? Every file i've tried to up/download to megaupload doesn't work, get an error message

#1378513 by liestolz (Power User) at 2011-02-16 21:11:41 (2 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

Using seedunlimited to start up an account at another site (dont use it here, got almost 8TB uploaded with a ratio of 4 here so no need), and within a week or so I' up 800-900 gb. So, I'm very happy with it, and for 15 bucks its a steal.

I got a a/c in seedunlimited a few days ago. For some reason some of my torrents get queued, and there is no start option, i have around 20 torrents seeding , and 1 download, anyway to fix this?

Also i get this "Storage Error: Cannot allocate memory" error a LOT, even though i have only used 4% of my HDD, and 52% memory is in use.

can any australian users recommend a seedbox service? seedunlimited has great speeds for torrents, but ftp/sftp speeds to .au are not the best

Got seedunlimited box aswell..
At the moment it does not work at all (have been working great since december)..
Getting this message when i try to access it through any means:

Quote:

While trying to retrieve the URL: user.seedunlimited.com/proxy/index.php?

The following error was encountered:
Unable to forward this request at this time.

This request could not be forwarded to the origin server or to any parent caches. The most likely cause for this error is that:
The cache administrator does not allow this cache to make direct connections to origin servers, and

For me seedunlimited sucks, shit load of errors and shitty speed, will be switching to a diff seedbox once my subscription expires.

Well, they are a bit unstable, but its cheap. It seems it was a harddrive that stopped working.. So lost all I had but things happen..

Got a seed box from feralhosting about a month and a bit ago so far all is good getting speeds of 15-17MiB/s peak download 10-13 stable and 5-12MiB/s up on torrents, between 1-2MB/s downloading stuff over SFTP to my home connection which is about as fast as it can go and 10-15MB/s over SFTP to another server. Not the best value for money compared with other providers listed in this thread but would recommend it none the less. Loving deluged on the seedbox then using the deluge-gtk gui as a client so easy to manage things and check on torrents etc.

I don't.
I've had it for 2 days, and it just went down for the second time.
First time it went down was after 3 HOURS of use.
The speeds are good and all, and the fact it's all set up etc when you get it is all good too.
But the uptime of my server is horrible.
Last time it was a harddrive malfunction, which erased all my downloads, which ment i had to redownload it. Not good for ratio if this keeps up...

And the customer support is horrible. The live support is always offline, and nobody has replied to my support ticket, even after 48hrs. I'm seriously considering canceling my account, ask for a full refund of my 35dollars, and take my money elsewhere.

is anybody else having issues adding urls/rss to rtorrent w/ seedunlimited?

adding via torrent upload is fine, just a little tedious

Agreed, have had the 100mbps/500gb plan for almost a month and its horrible.

Get an upload speed of 2mb MAX, mostly its at around 1.5mb, customer support is horrible, waited 3 days and finally got a reply that 2mb upload speed is normal in a shared seedbox. So if you are prepared to get less then 20% of the speed mentioned then go with it. I know shared seedboxes ofc have lower speeds, but seriously 1.5mb is just too low.

I've never had a problem with my box from them and my upload speeds I've seen steady in the 5-6mb/s range. at 15 USD / month for unmetered connection seems to be a pretty good value imo.

Had this problem aswell, no traffic was registered..
Can tell that I've been with them almost a year, no downtime at all and I wouldn't call them pricy for what you get..
