@ajf88: i use and love ur transmission-remote

The Linksys NSLU2 works perfectly as homeserver with transmission and samba.

Nice to know there's TB users that find it useful. A lot of the users I hear from are using these kind of devices. The NSLU2 looks a whole lot nicer than the big ugly box I use. I presume I could run ushare on one of these things to share to my xbox360 like I do now hmmmmmmmm...

Hi,
As I have already written, I have a Storlink-base "Dual GigaNas" with Torrentflux inside..... for the price I think it is a really good device: it work flawlessly in many torrent sites, some also with private tracker... BUT it does NOT work here in TB because it seems it can download at a very very high speed, but NOT SEED at all...

In every other site it works both in download and upload/seeding...

Do U have any insight? I sincerely tried to read and search trough al 28+ pages of this topic, but search tool does not seem to work this good and I cannot find any relevant info... please have pity.... s

Right now I am TRYING (desperately) to seed here on TB (it says I am connectable and all) as well as I am downloading AND seeding on another tracker (private!!!!) with no apparent problem... why here it does not work???

torrentflux is a webinterface nothing more

behind that bittornado or trasmission or azurreus works.

first check out this one: http://tf-b4rt.berlios.de/

than tell us which client works on ur seedbox, version etc pp

btw: i use Bittornado 0.3.18 on my seedbox and works fine (but i download the last torrent some weeks ago)

Thank U for reply,

I use a "Gigabit Dual NAS" based on storlink chip "Storlink Gemini SL3512c2" @ 300Mhz with 64 Mb of SDRAM and a Linux NAS 2.6.15  OS.

I have actually installed  "Torrentflux for NAS" 2.3 version. It works fine with many other private trackers BT sites and also with TorrentBytes but IN DOWNLOAD ONLY: I always get top speeds... the ports are all correctly open and forwarded on my router... the only problem sholud be "something" between the program itseld and the tracker here...

It seems that the version of Torrentflux b4rt U are linking to is actually a bit older than even the version I am using right now...

b4rt isn't comparable with torrenftlux as to theirs version numbers.

wasn't OVH supposed to support more countries early 2009?
Anyone got any updates on that?

I'm with seedhost on my 4.th month but it's a bit of a waste to pay twice what I have to...

Have you tried Transmission's transmission-daemon? I use it on a low spec pc, but I know there's many who use it on various NAS appliances. It comes with an alright web ui and if you want an app like uTorrent to remote control it from Windows you could try my app transmisison-remote-dotnet.

I used to come across similar problems on my seedbox with the uTorrent webUI so I changed to Linux and Transmission, which comes with a nice webUI. I also wrote my own Windows app that looks like uTorrent to control it... It works as a .torrent handler from firefox and does most of the things you'd expect in uTorrent. ^_^

It's GPL if anyone's interested ... Most people seem to prefer rTorrent tho, so it's probably not of use to many

So i had given this a try. i think it works well. Much better then the HTTP front end!

So a while ago I was able to use this site on my seedbox, but then one day when I added a torrent, it said my remote box was banned and continues to be. Is there someone that I can speak to about this?

Tedit: This page has a button like this with the exactly same function.

So many OVH resellers...
Include some "websites"

I'd prefer OVH actually but it's hard to register without a EU phone.

Hi everyone, I've got a couple of questions about seedboxes. I'm ordering a server from OVH tomorrow(mainly for the tv and movie packs)  and was just wandering how long it usually takes to get up and running?
Secondly as I've never used Linux which Os do you reccommend , ubuntu desktop?
And finally if people outside of OVH areas wanted to signup couldn't they just use my mobile No. and then I email them the pin code, just a thought. Or I could get several sim cards so that people would have their own No. if using the same No. for different signups wasn't allowed.

Please let me know how you get on with Ubuntu desktop, and how easy it is to configure your torrent client.

#1126488 by unknown[351445] at 2009-05-02 19:05:22 (4 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

It was actually not as bad as I thought. As soon as I got my IP and downloaded nx client I was logged in and firefox was already on there transmission torrent client was already on there so I added a torrent within 2 mins and getting great speeds.

It is easy enough to add/remove programmes, but  i wanted utorrent and had to get a lot of help with that from starfox64 who set up wine and utorrent etc. He helped me a lot and is trustworthy.

The only thing i need to do now is find out if i can stop ovh accessing my server?

I read somewhere about deleting root account? has anyone any ideas about what to do?

I really don't want them snooping on my server and seeing my files, is there any way to stop them?

Thanks Ian

change root password with passwd, and remove public key from /root/.ssh folder and you should be fine

For the people in this thread using transmission-remote-dotnet to transmission-daemon, I've made a new release of it which... well, it fixes shit and it has new shit too. As you see in the screenshot, I've made it look even MORE like uTorrent (which is what most people seem to want)

Hey guys, just registerd here and found this lovely thread.

I bought the cheapest seedbox on seedbox.fr just to try the whole seedbox concept out.

I realize that I'll hardly get anything for 3 euro a month but as I said, I just wanted to try it out.

Now Im wondering if any of you have experiences or other knowledge about seedbox.fr? Any hints are more than welcome.
