I got it from joesdatacenter.com
Some really cheap servers there. It's a shame they only sell p4's though
My server is:
P4 2.8ghz
512mb ram
250gb HD
Private 100mbps port
1500gb bandwidth
Directadmin free.
They have nothing aganist me running P2P on it and I can easily get up 8mb/s download from TB
Also the upload speed is amazing! Just got a 12mb/s (no jokes) speed uploading a movie to Zshare!
I recommend you check them out.

I don't like to pay for more extra bandwith use

You will never get full 1Gbit from OVH

Their 1Gbit deal is ONLY on the internal network, which means if you upload to users outside OVH, it is limited to 100Mbit..

You can upgrade to 10mbp/s unmetered but I won't even get close to 1tb so it doesn't bother me

their TOS doesnt allow Warez/IRC etc and strict mention of copyright, i dont think its safe to use a box with this one..

#1036882 by unknown[80820] at 2008-11-13 05:12:22 (4 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

That's pretty much a standard thing to put in your TOS. It just makes them not responsible for what you have on your server. They aren't going to actively monitor for that stuff as long as you keep it quiet and don't have letters sent.

Hmm, the server.lu thing looks tempting, but if they're gonna shut me down I don't know if I wanna take that risk...

Does anyone here who live in a OVH supported country want to share a server with me?
I've got about a 50 quid budget

My server is fine.

I've been using server.lu for 2 months without issues, pushing about 15TB a month

#1043239 by unknown[154197] at 2008-11-22 10:39:18 (4 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

If you had around £15 to spend on a seedbox a month who would you go for?

I’m guessing I’m only going to get a VPS at that price which is fine, at the moment myself and a friend share a vps that has 30gigs of space and 1.5tb of bandwidth but recently it’s become so slow I can upload faster on my home connection.

Cheers

I've  been using a DS from Seedhost.eu, and must say I love it!
100/100, 250GB HDD, Unlimited bandwidth for €45 a month.
Highy recommendable

Got the standard one from kimsufi ~ £20 a month, very good.
Downloaded first torrent at a speedy 10mb :w00t:. Never seen anything transfer so fast.
Boosted my ratio from big time, should get back to 1/1 soon.

#1050252 by NEFARiUS (Power User) at 2008-12-02 22:21:07 (4 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

Ordered myself a seedbox mini from Seedplace.eu (18gb, 3 active torrents, ftp, 100/100 unlimited) for 10€ per month.
The admin is a very great and friendly guy, he answered my support tickets sometimes in just a few minutes up to some hours, but still, the support is very good.
Seedbox is up and running 24/7, no downtimes, get good speeds, 10 mb/s down and my highest upload was 6mb/s (Think its not the end of the flagpole). If i download a file via ftp, the speed is as high as it can get with my my downstream (1.6mb/s)
Only wanted to test a seedbox and therefore 10€ seemed like a good deal, think, i`ll switch to a bigger one soon.

So, all in all, i can fully recommend Seedplace.eu, really satisfied there.

SkribEdit: Removed the affli links

On top of that, they're reselling OVH boxes so it suggests they're heavily shared with many people to each box

The gmail accounts don't add much to confidence in that 'business' either. I say it's some spotty teenager in his parents basement

This is not quite as simple...
I have a gbit ovh (EG Best OF) and here is the breakdown.
Internet -> OVH 1Gbps
OVH -> OVH 1Gbps
OVH -> Internet 100Mbps

Then lads, i have some good news=)

Hello,

Surprise! Here is a 7th update concerning the evolution of our subsidiaries in Europe, Asia, Africa and America.

New subsidiaries
- Towards the end of the year, max end of January, 4 new subsidiaries will start: PT - NL - IE - CZ

The method of implementation from 4 years ago works fine. So we innovate with the creation of 4 new subsidiaries insofar as Ovh France does more than 50% of work and the subsidiaries are currently involved in setting installation of the new subsidiary. Thus, our ES subsidiary deals with PT, UK with IE, FR with NL and PL with CZ. Geographically closer, nearer historically and culturally, setting
place of the subsidiary is going much better.

- Beginning in 2009, we are attacking into 4 Scandanavian countries: DK - SE - FI - NO,
+ The 3 Baltic countries that interest us as much which are the best platforms for the FI and the RU. On reflecting on the plan of action on these 7 countries with a end-2009 target for the 7 subsidiaries and a platform for the attack into RU.

- After CZ (probably around March 2009), we will work on:
- SK, (which enters the Euro)
- AT,
End Sept. these 2 subsidiaries should work.

- The HU subsidiaries and RO are not yet fully decided because of security problems in these countries. If the situation changes we'll create these subsidiaries by the end of 2009. For now it is in stand-by.

- In the 2nd part of 2009, will start on CH and LU. Indeed, the HC is not in the EU, and this greatly complicates the procedures and LU is a special culture and geographically speaking.

- We believe that by the end of 2009 should offer services to 50% of the population of Europe. It's not bad. Could do better.

- The result?
- Asia, - The Mediterranean Sea - North America

- We started the establishment of the subsidiary in Tokyo JP. It is not only because I love sushi. We have a double Objective:
- Offer hosting services for businesses Japanese visitors to Europe
- If the subsidiaries in Japan takes, we will have a good infrastructure to offer similar services to all Asian countries. In any case, our small team in Tokyo advance work already. There is a change of method of work in establishing the subsidiary. It is a good test.

- The Mediterranean Sea and Africa
For now, we decided to go to countries that are close to the Francophone. Thus:
- We have a subsidiary SN
- We started the establishment of the subsidiary TN
- We are studying MA and IL mid 2009/end 2009
This will allow us to enter this area of the world hoping UPM that (the Union for the Mediterranean) also advance.

- North America
Similarly, we will begin during 2009 with Francophone Canada to move towards the English-speaking Canada and the USA. But the moment nothing is really accurate. It takes a little feeling, work and luck. It is hoped that in the future we will.

- With our subsidiaries in PT and ES and we have a nice opening on South America. For the moment we leave the window open
and we look.

Regards,

Octave

oh, yes its for OvH=)
