Looks like OVH are cracking down on people using their hardware for seeding illegal material.

Oh well. Guess I'll have to be more careful about how I use my server... I sure hope mine doesn't get shut down, but there's little chance of that.

Looks like OVH are cracking down on people using their hardware for seeding illegal material.

The first thread contains an inaccurate post by a regular user, not a staff member.

The second contains a cease and desist order sent by anti-piracy company after the OVH box was caught on a public tracker.

Stick to private trackers and nothing will happen.

"Our network has no vocation to become the wastebasket of the internet where you can find any divx, exe or mp3 in a few minutes."

They're a bit late...

I wouldn't be overly concerned. As long as you keep you seedbox on reputable torrent sites and not using public trackers then you should be a-ok.

Yeah, that's only a gigabit connection though. So it is going to cost quite a bit. I used FDC years ago without any problem. They are just a bit more costly.

Hey, I use torrentflux on my seedbox and was wondering what ports should I forward on my firewall, So far I have the basic torrentflux ones forwarded but some trackers/torrents don't seem to connect. Could anyone suggest anymore to forward?

Also what port does torrentbytes use?

hi,

i use ovh too and have been getting awful speeds since server went in no SLA mode, in fact only getting 1-5KBPS in their peak hours. Server has become unusable now .. I want to switch to some new host but don't know what others hosts are safe and fast and cheap enuf..

#987359 by unknown[258792] at 2008-08-19 22:26:05 (4 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

If your just looking for a small, cheap temporary seedbox, you should go for shared torrentflux. The speeds are still good (shared 100/100 line), and with packages starting from $3 per month you really can't go wrong.

Im spending about 8 months in america.  away from OVH .  I was thinking of getting a seedx.net box to tide me over.  Any + - experience with them?  I dont think Ill need much bandwidth until ps3 isos become useful

ive been usin an ovh 100mb seedbox now for a few months with nps i got 250hdd 1gig ram and the speeds are great they only 20 GBP a month cheap as chips lol the sla rule only applies on the gig servers not the 100mb ones ,i use flux on mine and it great ive had nps from ovh myself but do no freinds that have but it always the gig servers lol then theres the question of wot client to use on the gig ones the speeds are slow on those as the hdd they install arnt fast enuf for a gig connection lol, my two cents:lol:

seed x is fine.

no SLA applies to 100mb servers too , if ur reseller has several servers, there is every chance u will be capped.

#988265 by unknown[250945] at 2008-08-21 22:16:31 (4 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

ive never been in nosla mode lol and im sorry but the no sla rule dosnt apply to 100mb boxes lol check ovh terms and conditions lol plus mine direct from ovh no a reseller

I have a question. I was using Kimsufi from OVH as a seedbox. I also need to use that seedbox for uploading stuff to Rapidshare. But sometimes server just slows down while using RS Manager. It uploads with 15-20 kb/s. What can I do for it?
