I got my server back up and running and I'm into the setup of torrentflux-b4rt, but I'm receiving this this:

torrentflux-b4rt 1.0-beta1 - Setup
Database - Type Check

Error: Your PHP installation does not have support for MySQL built into it. Please reinstall PHP and ensure support for your database is built in.

Can anyone help me out with how to fix my database?

*edit*

OK, I've figured out the problem with some googling and forum browsing. My PHP installation needs to be rebuilt with MySQL support. I don't know what steps to take in that area. Any guidance would be awesome. I'll update if I figure it out.

apt-get install php5-mysql

should fix it, remember to restart apache.

I already had the package to I found the command to restart apache and it's up and running. Thanks!

*edit*

NVM. Just a glitch.

How are they unmetered if they put a limit on how much you can use?

Those prices for FDC are pretty good. I used them before and got great speeds, just I'd rather stay out of the US personally.

Most put a limit soft limit on unmetered packages because it is usually shared. Some though sell dedicated bandwidth, but it is far more pricey.

I've got some weird happenings going on. I can upload and download torrents very well from my seedbox (8 MB/s and higher), but when I have any connection from my home my connections drops to 20 kB/s (SFTP and HTTP, via torrentflux-b4rt). This just started happening today.  I can't power cycle my server either. I get an error from port 22.

Any ideas?

*edit*

BTW, if I running simultaneous transfers, I can max out my connection (only 160 kB/s, on a good day :'-(), but each individual transfer can only get around 20-25 kB/s.

What seedbox do you have? I'm having the same issue with OVH and i mailed to support to fix it, but they said it's not their fault and everything is just fine. I've ordered another OVH box to test it if it's the same. OVH gives 100 Mbit/s but it's not private space, they give about a few hundreds of Mbits but it's shared for a dozen of servers or so (I heard it, im not sure if this is real).

I have LeaseWeb. Everything is back to normal. I think it was probably a routing issue. I'm back to full-strength downloads.

Each server has a 100mbit dedicated port. The port isn't shared.

No it is. Every unmetered/unlimited 100mbit offer for ~100E or less is with shared port. 1Gbit port is shared by several "unlimited 100mbit" servers. A real dedicated 100mbit unlimited port costs in the thousand range.

Mby u guys are right about OVH..

I have their superplan 08 XL server, and im running about 1TB trafic pr day, easily maintaining 11.2MBs upload rate for several hours, so IF it is shared, im not noticing it at the moment!

God damn that is a lot of bandwidth.

That makes me wish I could get an OVH. (stupid customer residence rules...) I've already got a huge ratio (joined right before FL and only downloaded 3.04GB), so it's not like I need it, but it would be nice to have a big hard drive and unlimited transfer. Sadly, I can't get that at LW for less than $540 USD/month, which is a ridiculous amount to pay when I have college bills coming in the fall.

No, it isn't.

If you don't believe me and want confirmation, e-mail OVH or post on their forum

How can you pay anonymously? Do you guys enter your real name?

So not true.
I can maintain 100/100 mbit on my server as long as i want. OVH/kimsufi is nice and it's cheap!

It is shared bandwidth, but the advantage of OVH is that there are a lot of other seedboxes on their networks so you will max out your connection most of the time. However, if you try to max it out on other methods you will invariably come up below true 100mbit bandwidth.

Anyone know if I can change my payment plan (every 1, 3, or 12 months) with LW on their website? and without contacting them? I've tried through the SSC, but I only see an option to pay, not the rate.

If not, I'll have to email them in the next few days.

After checking out atleast 10 different dedicated server providers I have come to the conclusion that everyone of them sucks compared to OVH, and of course they don't provide their services to my country. Are there any other companies that offer the same reasonable prices, and similar hardware.

What I need is atleast 80 GB diskspace, 100 Mbit guaranteed bandwidth, preferably no bandwidth limits and the ability to choose which operating system I want (I want Debian or Ubuntu Server). It's crazy when you sites that charge 140 USD a month for SHITTY service compared to what OVH could probably sell for less than 10 dollars if they had such crappy deals...

If there are no other sane alternatives than OVH I'm gonna have to signup as a fake French guy and fool them...

if heard from various other persons that it wont work if your bank account isnt in one of those countries...

@negge:

I, for one, would like to know if you can get that down. I'd really like an OVH server. LeaseWeb is good and all, but nothing beats OVH.
