mobiusRO4588: You will def want more than 256mb ram. I recommend at least 1GB.

OVH only sell to certain countries. Check their disclosure, but apart from that they are great, i was able to push 11TB a month through them on a $110US a month unlimited box.

e
if you do debian and utorrent with wine and dont seed to many torrents 256mb is fine. I did have 512 on my ovh server and i did´t have any problem seeding and leeching 10 torrent with full speed.

Heard i can get away with 256mb just means i cant seed/download lots of torrents at once.

Wonder how much you can push from the £15 plan

edit: I see they have a  RPS (Real Private Server)
http://www.ovh.co.uk/products/rps1.xml

£10 for

Intel  Celeron 2008 1.20 - 1.33
RAM 512 MB DDR 2
SAN disk space    10 GB
Extensible to 1 TB (1000 GB)
per chunk of 10 Gb / £2 +VAT / month
100 Mbps
unlimited
Fixed IP    1 address

Looks good but space is ....and my limit is around $30-40AU so that would get me 30-40Gb space on this plan.

Hi,
is there any dedi or shared for less than $20?
I don't really need 100 mbps, with 4 mbps i'm happy
Thanks!

https://www.ovh.co.uk/products/kimsufi.xml   You must be from DE/FR/UK to use it this offer (signup from such an IP and give fake details? )
http://seedbox24.com/  some site i saw, using Torrentflux  and offering unlimited 100Mbit for £10-15, doesnt look very reliable though .

Well, here we go.
I'm (also) starting up my own hosting company.
I'm trying to be as cheap as possible, and give you as the customer lots of advantages.

I'm currently waiting for my transfer to complete, so that I can buy the domain that I am looking for.

But until then I have a temporary contact email. maxidatacentre@gmail.com

You can send me an PM here, or send me an email about any of the servers that I offer.
All servers are located at a highly available datacentre in Frankfurt, with 100 Mbit/s dedicated bandwidth.
The datacentre has more than 60 Gbps connectivity to the world,

You get access to a customer centre where you can reboot, rescue, check bandwidth usage etc.
All payments are done thru PayPal. (For now...)

http://www.maxidatacentre.com

I have these following offers at the moment.

None of my servers have setup fees!
And I do not care what you do with them, as long as you stay away from child porn.

Feel free to PM me or send me an mail, I am glad to answer any questions you may have.

That 24e one sounds good... argh, damn shitty pay part time job :weep: Prob. cant do them this month or next, but if I just want to seed at torrent sites (2 or 3 torrents a time at most) are those specs gonna hold up ok? And are the specs actually capable of seeding/leeching at 100mbit or is it gonna bottleneck it somewhere?

edit: that £14.99 one from OVH looks good... Good specs, 100mbit, unlim traffic :-O

So you're reselling netdirekt.

http://neu.netdirekt.de/c/cms/front_con … p?idcat=33

That might be good if you can lease boxes completely anonymously etc. Otherwise I would just go with Netdirekt themself.

:edit: tho you can fake your name even now so I really can't grasp the point here...?

Well, I get discount on the price for every server that I sell.
This means that I can offer prices below netdirekt in a while.

I'm not doing this to earn money, but to offer people really cheap seedboxes.

Based on the web given netdirekt have bandwith limitation :-) for seedbox it's better to search of unmetred :-)

#930612 by unknown[58044] at 2008-04-15 12:20:13 (5 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

good servers are : OVH (UK/FR/DE only i think), NetDirekt, KeyWeb (both in DE), Ecatel (NL).

Check this frmo KeyWeb: http://english.keyweb.de/dedicated/dedi-intel.shtml

and FDC for USA.

Hehe, yeah, go for unmetered and get a shitty shared line that will be cut off as soon as you pass 1TB in traffic.

There is nothing called a 100MBps dedicated and unmetered line for a cheap cost.
If you find one, I can guarantee you that it's either shared, or they will close it down as soon as they find out you are using too much resources.

The most hostingcompanys that offer unmetered has written in their ToS that they keep all the rights to unplug the server if it's using too much resources.

#930635 by unknown[58044] at 2008-04-15 14:12:03 (5 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

can i ask you if you will resell only to people that will use alot of BW (torrents, ftp, etc..) or you will also resell to "normal"  clients. Usually there is an equasion: high-bandwith usage + low-bandwith usage = normal bandwith usage. If you plan to resell only to bw consuming users (that want cheap BW and will push like 10TB+ monthly) how will you cover your BW costs?

#930650 by FinskenDonor (First Line Support) at 2008-04-15 14:43:15 (5 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

Well, I take 29€ ekstra per 200gb passed over the monthly bandwidth limit, and 0.39 Euro per GB.
I will resell to both low bw customers and high.

So handling the bandwidth won't be a problem.
Everything over the monthly traffic will be charged.

Fair enough.

As for bandwidth, there is a difference between "unmetered" and "unlimited", true _unmetered_ 100mbit/s servers will cost you a great deal, but there are providers offering unlimited bandwidth, such as OVH. I know of many people who have pushed even 10TB a month on OVH's 25€/mo box. It's a great deal if you can get it.

Unmetered means the provider won't take b/w samples at switch.

Oh, my bad... Too late for me, time to get to bed. >-<

Anyhow, sure. If you can get a OVH box, go for it.
