Very sorry.

Our DataCentre is located in Frankfurt,(Germany).
All our servers are dedicated servers on a 100MBIT  connection.
Our prices rang from $29.95 up to $459.95.

Our servers are self managed, however we can give support for installments if thats what you require.

Our server specs rang from :

Intel® Pentium III 733 MHZ
256MB DDR-RAM
10GB HDD

up to

Intel® Quad Core Xeon X5355
8192MB DDR2-RAM
4 X 250GB HDD

Most of our servers you have an option to upgrade specs ie RAM,CPU even have option to up bandwidth limit.

Like i said in first post, We are curently building our web site and this should be complete within a week or so.

Our web site will have a dedicated client area that will allow customers to re-boot servers and check server bandwidth and general control over there accounts and server specs.

Of course once this is complete i will post further more details and most of the details you will need will be shown on the web site and much more will be explained.

Also we have 3 types of seedboxses we can install for you and thats:
Utorrent with webui
Torrentflux
Torrentflux-b4rt

But you will have to manage them by yourself and just to remind you that our servers are dedicated this means your seedboxses arnt shared! :-)

Ok example for seedbox:

Intel® Core 2 Duo E6600
2048MB DDR2-RAM
2 X 250GB HDD and 5000GB bandwidth!
Full root access

We would personaly install what seedbox you would like. We would install all necessary equipment ie Apache,Mysql,PHP,FTP ect ect , Free of charge.

Monthly price :$220.00

Remember those installments we offer in  the example package (above)  would cost atleast $100 to do.
Most server company Tec's would charge $30 every hour atleast.

We will charge for installments that arn't in a server package, ie like example above.

generally speaking torrenters are looking for lower end higher bandwidth machines...

#917800 by unknown[235458] at 2008-03-20 00:01:00 (5 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

Thats very correct.

If your wanting to run a seedbox then system specs arn't to important.
But we have options to up bandwidth.

Harddrive & bandwidth are most important for seedbox.

Okay clarification I wanted people who already have us seedboxes to contact me... I'm not selling seedboxes

and about us... meh, there are lots of big scene sites based in us (although the scene does frown upon this)

I know of huge sites in somewhat public DC's that have been around many years with no issues

Running a tracker or warezz site or watever isnt realy a problem in some countrys nor is it in england or USA becuase we don't actualy host the torrent contents, We only host the id of that torrent, Warezz forums only have a direct link to copy write stuff, But anyway lets not get side tracked here, There is no US hosting company that will allow copy write material on there servers None what so  ever and infact not many country  will, Its fully against the law. My point is, As soon as a US host see's what you have put on there servers, By law they would have to act on it..
With a tracker on there servers then they don't have to do anything because there argument would be, '' We don't host any copy write martial  and they wouldn't be breaking the law, Its only if they get scared they might get into trouble, they close the trackers down from there servers but if they stand there ground they can because there not breaking the law so all is fine..
So what im saying is, don't waste money nor risk getting nicked by having seedbox on a US server

Dude, you may wanna get your facts straight.
Here in Germany, we do have some of the strictest and worst copyright laws worldwide.
The courts know shit about the internet. People are getting their doors kicked in 5:30 in the morning because they're running TOR nodes. If I'd imagine the worst place for having dedicated hardware for torrenting, Germany would be upfront.

Not trying to ruin your business or anything... just warning people who think Germany might be somewhat "safer" in any way. Because it just isn't!

All replys welcomed.

Now this is my point! Im not hold responsible to what my clients have on there servers. This means theres no chance of me being nicked over what you have on your servers! The servers are self managed!
I have no right to give your private details to anyone, And belive me or not thats something i wouldnt do.
Your private info is PRIVATE therefor i wouldnt hand them details to your mother or the queen.
You are your own admin of the servers that are purchased from me,

If I want to get a seedbox that is capped at 1,5TB a month and has a 100 Mbit connection, can I do the following?

1. Choose which Linux distribution should be installed on the server? (Only one I'm familiar with is Debian/Ubuntu)

2. Do I get root access to the machine or do I share it with someone else?

3. Is it legal to install Apache on it and use it for small-time webhosting?

4. Can I somehow stream my downloaded TV shows from the seedbox to my home computer so that I don't have to re-download it at home? I use Linux at home aswell.

When you purchase a dedicated server then you should have the option to choose what OS you want.

Dedicated server = Not shared,,,,, Shared server= you are sharing it with others

lol no no apache is far from crime busting:-)

That can easly be done, Depending what OS you have,, I know centos4.4 is abit difficult to install vlc becuase theres no repo for that OS to have vlc on it, But it sure can be built..

All you would need to do is, Install VLC and you can easly stream movies ect, That means you dont have to download them to watch them:-) also you will need a media player or some sort

ello ello

well, i have tested out a new seedbox/dedicated server for a mount now

The provider is Hosting-ie (http://www.hosting-ie.com/)

They also have their data center in germany, around frankfurt

The speed various from 5mb to 89mb (out speed on torrents)
Ftp part, really depends on what speed you are sitting on yourself,
but a test to a mate in Norway(ftp) that is on 100mb connection we did not see more than 20-30mb
but we could then get 3 connection and get all at those speeds

To the UK i did not get anymore than 40-60mb (yes out)

So the conclusion: they work ok, not great but ok
Yes unlimited bandwidth and all that.

But their support sucks big time! enough said
surly they dont like p2p, ftp and so one=)

ps: yes the dl speed was close 90mb all the time=)

What's the approximate price of a dedicated server (with the specs I mentioned in my previous post)?

dano1983 wrote:

Actually I didn't understand that sentence Can I do it or not? I just figured it could be against the rules as many ISPs don't want their customers to run a web server at home.

I'm using Kubuntu and VLC works just fine so I guess streaming movies would be no problem for me at all.

No its not against the law to run apache, mysql, php but if your ISP is abit strict on bandwidth then maybe its a good idea to ask them first:-)

But iv never known a ISP to not like it:-)

I just checked out www.giga-international.com and it seems like a hell of a good deal (I'm thinking about the "Dedicated Server L eco"). 100 Mbit/s dedicated and no bandwidth limit for 55 euros a month. One day when I can afford something like that I'll get one right away.

Dont be to quick to judge them because you see some complaints in a post.
Remember you cannot please every customer, And you will find some un-happy customers bitching.

I got 1 server running at their datacentre was lucky there was no setup fee this is second month i am with them i admit that their support is very slow. There is no CMS for ticket support. The speed are indeed very fast even though i manage to push up to 10TB data transfer per month.  I have no comment about their speed.
