Who said it's in same server? Would be cool but freequest is also nice..almost same to me in what IRC server it is..voted "hell yes"

IMO... I think any new server idea should be for the site to bump it up to 3 and be able to support more users rather than provide an IRC server for only the few 1000 or so that actually go onto it and chat. Since the site's opening almost 6 weeks ago, I think I've only been in the IRC about maybe 4 times and that was to see if TB was offline because it wasn't coming up, about the only time I and half the community even use the IRC.

I'm all for having our own IRC server!
If you want a location to host an ircd on, let me know. I would be happy to help! (I've got experience running ircd's and irc services on private networks)
Im thinkin, what is bad with freequest?
Can anyone say anything more than yes and no, and give some pros and cons?
Im not any IRC "geek" though i love using it. I like the nickserv feature.
If tb was gonna change, i would keep the nickserv system.
How bout some admins comment on what is thought about it and/or if any
thing has been decided?

We're on freequest. Freequest works. I've never seen any problems related to freequest. Why move? Moving involves relocating around 1000 regular visitors to #tb2 and #tb2-info, not to mention the inevitable technical problems that will arise from a new ircd.
And more importantly, look what happened back on Tb when we had our own ircd. The system went down, and a lot of people had no idea of where to look. With channels on freequest, the irc channels can remain open regardless of catastrophic failures on tB. (heaven forbid )
