Yes. Your DVD will be useless if you mess up while flashing, and you can't replace the DVD with another one, since the one in your box only works with your... well, box. However, you can remove the flash memory and flash it outside the box, so it isn't broken beyond repair.

Xtreme firmware 3.0 for TS-H943 Xbox 360 - Stealth 360 Hacked Firmware

C4eva has released the world's first stealth firmware for the 360 - backups now appear exactly as original disk regardless of which disk check command used by Xbox 360.

cant he extract his dvd drive key then if he messes up the flash he can use a replacement drive flashed with the extracted firmware dvd key

how do they know its stealth ?

I mean, do they know exactly what micrsoft can and cannot detect on your 360 while connected to xbox live.

I would deffinitely apply this as long as I was certain my live account would be fine

Take a look @ http://www.xboxhacker.net/forums/index.php?topic=2760.0

I'm no expert in HW hacking, but given c4e's expertise, I'd take his word for it

Hello New to this very xbox360 modding thingy, since I just won one today with the purschase of my 7900GTX thank u xfx :innocent:

And I've trying to find out in what possible ways it is best to mod the 360..

And i've found out, ( this is what I want to check ) There aren't any ! ( proper working ? )

What seems to be a option, is "flashing" the dvdz framewire, so it doesnt see the diffirence between a original dvd and a downloaden + burned one ? ( is this correct ? )

  • Some people have managed to run there own created software on the 360, so something like a modchip is not unthinkable anymore ?

and the last thing I wanted to check is, if the xbox360 games download from tb, are transferd to the hd, Im not able to play them right ?

Yes Im a complete noob with the xbox thingy ^^

I just want to be sure, before I ruin my little gift

Thanks to this week’s Microsoft Gamesfest, we now know a little more about the enigmatic Live Vision camera add-on for the Xbox 360.

For one game, at least, it sounds like it’ll work much like the PS2’s eye toy – using your body to control the action on-screen. Stuff’s also just learned from Microsoft that the Live Vision’s UK debut will occur in October, hot on the heels of its September launch in the US.

There’s a nice little range of games that’ll team up with the cam, including Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas, Pinball FX and World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions. Neat demos of the poker game have been shown where the on-screen character’s face is animated according to your expressions in front of the camera. It turns out that poker face you honed for years wasn’t made redundant by web gambling after all.

Rather than simply a gaming add-on like Sony’s EyeToy, the Vision will give 360 players more webcam-type features, too. Gamers will be able to use the cam for video chat malarkey, sending photo messages and customising their online picture.

    First modchip is released.

The NME-360 enables your XBox360 to play backups of your highly valuable original games. NME-360 is a universal solution for ALL currently available XBox360 Consoles on the market. Forget crazy dual mods with 30+ wires or even bricking your DVD drive by flashing corrupt/wrong firmware files. Your original firmware stays untouched and intact at any time when using the NME-360. There is no need for any firmware-reading or flashing.

The NME-360 autodetects the inserted media. If the inserted media is a backup NME-360 injects the necessary information to the DVD drive enabling it to boot smoothly ahead! If the media is an original game, or anything else, which doesnt require any further action of the NME-360 then it simply falls asleep so there is no need for an external switch whatsoever. This way it can not be detected online when you play an original onlinegame.

A few questions about the firmware hacking of xbox 360's

    1) i have an v46 hitachi drive which firmware would be best suited for myself (PAL consol)?

    2) what is the best DVD burner to have for burning the games and possibly making my own backups of my current collection of games?

    3) which connectivity kit would be the best the  XENO conectivity kit (17.98 delivered) or the team executer conectivity kit (18.98 delivered)?

    4) best media and program to use for burning disks?

    5) is there any newbie tutorials for anything specified above?

    6) am i right in saying that if i extract the firmware off the xbox 360 dvd drive then if i brick it i could get another 360 dvd and upload an original copy of the firmware for that drive with my key added?

    Thanks

I'm thinking of buying an Xbox360.

I was waiting for the PS3 but its not sounding like a good idea anymore.

    http://gameworlddirect.co.uk/index.php? … ts_id=2956

Was looking at that one as it is already modified. Is that a fair price as I haven't seen any other modded ones.

I don't have an HD TV so I want to use a spare PC screen I have. Its a 17" TFT running at 1280x1024. That be ok for an Xbox360?

    Cheers

mine is looking shit hot on my monitor 19" widescreen one better than it was on my tv!

only other thing is that you will need a seperate speaker set up to take the RCA phono leads so you can have sound

I really cant afford o buy a HDTV right now.. I've got a 21" DELL CRT Monitor.. its NOT a widescreen just a sqaure normal like one :p... So will a Xbox 360 Look as good as it should on 720 on the monitor? Because i already have a Tv but it does'nt support HDTV and i dont wanna play the 360 unless it play it on HD... I have also read on the Xbox-scene forums that using a VGA cable the display looks washed out.. Is it true? and Xbox 360 gives out video in 16:9... My Monitor is 4:3.. Will i experiance more probems? Also what about the sound.. seems like the X360 Only supports Optical out.. My creative Inspire or Megaworks dont support Optical out.. =/

What mod chip is recommended for the Xbox 360? I have the Hitachi drive, and don't want to risk damage by flashing it.

Unfortunately there are no mod chips right now for the Xbox 360, just firmware flashers.

I just bought an Xbox 360 from Futureshop (Canada). And it gave me error 65 right out of the box. After speaking to a representative for 50 minutes (it was so hard to understand his english), they told me to take it back to the retailer.

Has anyone else experienced this error?

    1) Unplugged everything, retried.
    2) Unplugged HD, retried.
    3) Restarted

    Nothing worked

EDIT: The store took it back no questions, got a new unit!
