MrEs, soon enough.

Quote:

We have made some progress with a new read/patch/write app and no doubt you will all be plugging in your drives to your PC and having some fun shortly - all for free too as no modchips required (and yes we still want to play!)

Here is what we envisage...

> Connect Xbox 360 DVD-ROM to PC
> App to update firmware with magic code
> Connect DVD-ROM back to 360 - and away you go

Also this site has some killer information : http://www.kev.nu/360/dvdshort.html

Obviousley the only use for this is piracy - hence you wont see any modchips (not from us at least - however they wouldn't be needed anyway - however we do have a few cheap tools to make life much easier - more on that soon) Still a long long way off from unsigned code - but it's a start....

Thanks to The Specialist for reviving the scene! We understand he doesn't want to release anything due to possible backlash - but there are many of us who would - and will.

Keep your eyes on our 360 forums for updates.....

Datel XSATA - SATA-to-USB device to connect Xbox 360 HD on PC

>> After the announcement of the 360SATA and AvaLaunch 360 SATA to connect the Xbox 360 on your PC, here's the solution from Datel. It connects to the USB port of your PC, so the device includes a SATA-to-USB converter.

From codejunkies.com:
[QUOTE]

The problem with the Xbox 360's built-in hard drive is it just isn't big enough. 12GB of usable space might be sufficient for the casual gamer, but the hardcore joypad juggler needs more. With XSATA, the latest devious device from Datel, you can free up hard drive space by transferring content between your console and your PC. You need never run out of hard drive space on your XB360 again!
Using your Xbox 360 file manager software such as the free PC app Xplorer360(info), you can transfer materials from your console's hard drive to your PC, using your computer's hard disc space to store demos, game saves and other such materials you're not currently using. When you need them again, just transfer back to the XB360's drive. Once the data is on your PC, you can email anything that's not locked to your machine or L!VE account to your friends for them to use on their own consoles too.XSATA is a plug-and-play device that sits between your XB360's hard drive and the console itself. There's no need to remove your XB360's hard drive to use it. The PC and the 360 can then ‘share' the HDD so it can remain in place at all times. To connect, just plug the supplied cable into the High Speed USB port on the back of XSATA and into any spare USB port on your PC. XSATA is USB 2.0-compatible, so you can expect ultra-fast transfer speeds of up to 480mbps. It looks great too, with blue laser light giving a real cool edge to your console.

XSATA for Xbox 360 is in the shops now for £29.99 / $39.99. Official Site:codejunkies.com

I have a videoprojector, and i am thinkin if i should buy xbox 360 too?

Has anyone played that with projector on? My projector can produce 720p resolution. Does xbox360 look good   with projector? It might be fun playing nhl with big screen

Any thoughts? or hints?

Commodore4eva Xtreme FW for Hitachi 46D and 47D and 59 Xbox 360 V1.1

>> Commodore4eva (already known for the modified DVD firmwares he released for the Xbox1 Samsung drive, Toshiba-Samung TS-H943, Hitachi-LG GDR-3120L 47D and Hitachi-LG GDR-3120L 46D) just released the modified DVD firmware (FW) for the Hitachi-LG GDR-3120L drive with FW 59. This release also includes the previously released firmwares for Hitachi-LG GDR-3120L 47D and 46D.

From Commodore4eva (c4e) on xboxhacker.net:
[QUOTE]
Xtreme firmware for Hitachi 46D and 47D and 59 Xbox 360 V1.1
Here it is, the long awaited World first Xbox 360 backup firmware modification to boot game backups on all Hitachis!
59 version has not been tested on physical drive, neither has flashsec47 or memdump on this version of the drive!
I am working on an Xtreme0800 firmware for each Hitachi to enable you to dump ss/backup your game originals and will release when done.

Features:
* Now for all Hitachi drives!
* Boots all Xtreme Xbox 360 backups
* Boots all Xtreme Xbox 1 backups supported by emulator
* Boots all Xbox 360 originals
* Boots all Xbox 1 originals supported by emulator
* Use on Xbox Live at own risk

Technical details:
* Security sectors are read in this order:
* Reads Xbox 360 security sector from PSN 04FB1F (Layer 0)
* Reads Xbox 1 security sector from PSN 605FF (Layer 0)
* Reads Xbox 360 security sector from PSN FD021E (Layer 1)
* Flashes sector 9003e000 (Master Checksum)
* Flashes sector 90035000 (Security Sector Read)
* Flashes sector 9001c000 (Drive Response Table Decrypt)
* Flashes sector 90003000 (Custom Code)
* Flashes sector 90027000 (Challenge Response)

Flashing your drive:
Xtreme.bat automatically makes a backup of your dvd drive firmware called orig.bin and renames existing orig.bin nine times.
Plug SATA cable from DVD drive to PC. Power cable drive still connected to Xbox 360
Ensure Hitachi drive is in mode b either by two wire trick or slax linux boot cd
Go to Windows
Run Xtreme.bat batch file from a dos prompt specifing drive letter eg "xtreme.bat g"
Pause has been added after each flash, just press any key to continue.
All done!
Run Restore.bat to revert to original firmware eg "restore.bat g"

Media detection on Hitachi:
Due to the Hitachi drives detection of Book-type DVD-Rom dual layer media taking longer than other types of media (you will hear click click noise, security sector read routine has not be executed at this stage!) this can cause the Xbox360 dashboard
to timeout causing open tray prompt. This is normal operation for the Hitachi drive and has nothing to do with the security sector
read routine or any of the Xtreme firmware patches. Use the HDTV switch/HDD trick to soft reset the console (this doesnt reset the dvd drive) eliminating the timeout issue.
Unreconized disc/dirty disc error is due to incompatible media/burner/SS for use with Hitachi. Best results are found using Verbatim media and Pioneer burner.

Thanks to everyone at Xboxhacker.net for all their discussions. Thanks go to Seventhson for flashsec and memdump and Loser for firmcrypt, without these tools this would not be possible.
Thanks also to #FW on IRC for support/discussion.

HELP ME PLEASE?

I have connected my 360 to my PC. I have installed Media Centre extender on my PC and it has recognised the XBOX. I can play audio files and view pictures from my PC through the XBOX but I can NOT see or play video files.

I think the problem is in the setup as the XBOX told me an 8 digit code that I had to use during setup but I was never asked to input this code and the XBOX will not go any further.

PLEASE please PLEASE please PLEASE please PLEASE please help me as I have been trying to sort this out for weeks now.

      Thanks

have you been to http://www.xbox.com/pcsetup ??  You need to download about a 50Mb file that runs on the pc - then it will ask for the 8-digit code from the 360.  Shouldn't be too hard to get that bit going.  Then it is just follow the prompts.  Reply to this if you still need help - been stuffing around with this for the last couple of months.
