Hi folks, im not sure if this is mentioned, but probobly was.
anyways, since the xbox doesnt support HD files like mkv, there is actually a way around it.
For some reason you can play through ps3 media server instead of TVersity. You dont even need to "extract" the files, you can "play" the rars so to speak.

So for these who didnt know, you can actually stream 1080p and 720p movies through your xbox to the TV through ps3 media server.

You should have added that a moderately powerful pc is required for 1080p transcoding (what needs to be done for the 360 to play the file) and trying to play a 1080p mkv from rars is clunky to say the least.

PS3 media server is better than tversity in every single way for me except one.

I have always and still do find tversity to handle video streams/podcasts better than ps3 media server at the moment.

Been a while since the last update for ps3 media server but it basically works very well at the moment anyway.

Anyone who does not bother with internet feeds should remove tversity entirely and install ps3 media server, if internet streams are not needed then its madness to use tversity when ps3 media server is just a few clicks away

Yea, sorry, i should've added that to play 1080p requires ofcourse a powerful pc, but i thought that was pretty logical My computer is pretty weak these days, with a AMD 4000+ and a X850XT card, but 720p runs pretty smoothly and im pretty pleased with the ps3 media server!

And i agree with Dave, Its way better than TVersity. Give it a try

EDIT: Btw, dave, have you found a way to get the .srt/sub files to work? there are preferences in the Media Server, cant figure it out to get played together with the movie file.

I am fairly sure the .srt sub file needs to be in the same location as the movie and have the same filename.

also make sure definitely disable subtitles is not ticked in the transcoding options.

I was wondering what peoples take were on this:

You play a game on your modded and banned 360 oh let's say 10 days before the official release date of a game.

Then you go out and buy a new 360 arcade and use your HDD, which contains the save game for the game you played 10 days before release,  on the machine.

Do you guys think that could result in something like a gamertag ban? I would think a console ban would be out of the question since there is no proof that the savegame was created and used on another banned 360.

What do you think?

I don't think it necessarily means banned as  soon as you join live.
Since a lot of people would probably not bother with setting up dates etc before playing games
and lets live correct date and time for them instead.
I would otherwise say a lot of people would've been banned for a wrong reason.

So alright, got a xbox360 now everything is hooked up as it should but the motherfucker wont play any movies because some codec shit.

Where to get these codecs?
A complete guide or something how to set this shit up would be great aswell, spent hours already and the shit wont even work.

If anyone has a better option than this stupid Windows media center, just write url and I'll check it out.

when your connected to live and you need the optional codec pack (just for divx/xvid) just start playing an xvix and it should direct you to the codec.

for everything else like mkv you would be insane not to use PS3 media server and you should not need a guide to get that running as its as simple as ABC and very self explanatory.

Disable the windows media sharing in windows, its borderline useless.

Good luck, not that you should need it though

(dont be putt of with the PS3 part, it works very well with the 360)

You won't believe what i did today.   I fucked up badly.  :sad:

My Xbox360 console got the E74 error about a week ago and i've been meaning to send it in to the Microsoft repair center after they sent me a reply paid sticker for the shipping box.

Anyway, this Saturday morning I realised that it was 11.40 am and the post office closes at noon on Saturdays.  I quickly packed the console into a padded box and ran down there and just made it.

This afternoon i was doing some cleaning before my gf came home from work and i noticed an empty dvd case beside the TV.   
OMG, that's the case for one of my burnt games.  I sent Microsoft a console with a burnt disc of "The Saboteur" in the tray!!  :slap:

I can't believe it.  after meticulously re-attaching the warranty sticker back on I go and leave a disc in the tray.  :weep:

I'm expecting to have the console sent back to me now un-repaired and with a shipping bill of $30-$40 each way because it went interstate.
What pisses me off the most though is that I've drawn attention to myself by leaving a disc in there.

This morning a courier dropped off a plain brown box and inside was what is definitely a brand new Xbox360 console (manuf date: 28-1-2010).

The box also contained my burnt disc of The Saboteur (which I had labeled with a black felt pen) placed into a paper sleeve for me, a letter of apology for the inconvenience of a defective console and a gift card for 1 months free Xbox Live Gold membership.

I wasn't expecting this, I was expecting the worst because of what I had read in a couple of forums when guys were sprung for sending back a modded console.   
The Live a/c will be handy because I just bought B:BC 2

Yey just got my hands on an OLD xbox with the pre NXE dash       :glee:

Just need to replace the drive which is busted sadly (hitachi anyways they suck) but i managed to get drive key so i  ordered a BenQ. Now i only need to find somebody to jtag it.

i got 360 arcade  Hitachi (  Ixtreme 1.51 )

As far i know i can play wave 4 games with no problem got xbox like 3-4 years

People say with jungleflasher u can downl arcade games and dlc and play it on your 360 ?
If not what does jungleflasher do ?

And is there any site with news about wave 6 ? are they bussy to make ixtreme for that ?

the latest firmware for hitatchi drives is 1.51, which also supports ALL current waves.
as far as i know there are no plans to make an ixtreme LT for hitatchi drives. samsung will be the last type of drive to receive it.

Jungleflasher is simply the tool used to update the dvd drives firmware, it does not do anything for DLC.

Jtag is what you need to do to run DLC.
