Not sure how it's going to be undetectable as it will still have to be modified in some way. No matter how stripped down it is . . . Unless the orgincl firmware can be kept alongside LT somehow ?

it really depends on what M$ can detect, Iextreme (older versions) I am fairly sure were completely undetectable until m$ implemented different/more checks.

if c4eva says its undetectable I believe him but for how long is the million dollar question.

yeah, that's going to work lol

pirates (us) I very much doubt will have to pay for Iextreme, but if he can make a bit of cash then I suppose that's fine but I fully expect a complete working version to be on a torrent site near me almost immediately after its released and/or they start charging for it.

I don't think that link was read properly. iXtreme 1.7 was supposed to be a new revision to 1.6. However, MS found new ways of exploiting the CFW and banned virtually everyone who used said firmware. iXtreme LT is different from 1.7.

As it stands, it seems LT is going to be released free-of-charge. I do not expect people will have to pay.

Oh for FUCK SAKES, first my Wii broke down, and now when I turned on my xbox it was banned.....
Is it true u cant even install games to it any more? What excactly does that mean?

Well, AFAIK the ban nerfed the usage of the Xbox hard drive. By not being able to install games, I think was meant that the feature to copy game data to the HDD and then play without the racket of the disk spinning in the drive is disabled.

Anyway, looking forward to FW version 1.61 for the Lite-On drive.

New firmware is apparently now complete and just going through testing. No boxes have been banned yet whilst using it.

Hopefully we will see a release by xmas :-)

and apparently the team jungle team are no longer a team as there has been internal hissy fits over the new liteon dump trick being leaked. it seems alot of people wanted to make money out of it privately lol.

xmas time drama.

I got Xbox 360 which I bought about 4 years then, 2006.

Well yesterday something went wrong and when I start the Box I receive 3 red lights (RROD) (light 1, 3, 4 are flashing). I googled some opinions what to do and found out way to see super-secret error-code. Code was 0102... After some more Googling I found out the problem. It is some kind of general hardware failure and it seems that even my 360 doesnt know what wrong

From google I found several fixes to fix the problem. Some kind of nasty looking eraser trick and x-clamp fix.

So the question is. Any other TByter got this kind of problem or knows something about those "fixes", are they any good and if I manage to revive my good ol' 360 how long would it live this time? 2 weeks, 2 months or 2 years?

I have iX 1.6 fw on the box, it aint banned from Live and got somewhat 80 games (all backups). So it would be a bit loss of money to buy new 360 since I wouldnt like to modify it because of the warranty. Perhaps I will try to revive my old friend but if you know something about those fixes, throw me hints what to try and what not.

tox.

Why don't you just send it to MS? Or has the warranty expired?

3 red lights is a common fault, the gpu has overheated, AFAIK the only way to permanently fix this is to have the solder professionally reflowed using a reflow machine.

you can try the heatgun trick which will work....although for how long I don't know, the X-clamp trick will give u an immediate fix although its highly unlikely it will last forever.

but like sithius900 said, if its in warrenty just send it back, if your warrenty seals are broken you can buy new 1s from ebay.. send it back to ms.

Thanks for replies. Since the console is so old, warranty is already expired. I think I will try out those tricks tomorrow after buying some nuts and bolts. But since the 360 is already 4 years old, I think it was worth the money so I could invest in new console. Arcade models only seem to cost something like 180 euros.

#1212503 by EarwigDonor (VIP) at 2009-12-07 12:51:37 (3 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

Seems there may be a new way to dump the firmware for the next flash. It appears that is what team jungle fell out over as some wanted to benefit financially from the new method.

Thats a stupid investment since you can get an elite for 230€.

Thanks for some good tips. Tomorrow I will grab some nylon washers and screws and perform some magic tricks

Gotta think about that new Elite then.
I would only say shit happens and its even Xmas time. Was thinking about buying new AV amplifier so  it would make a little hole in my budget if I need to buy new Xbox also But I heard that you cant flash the newest dvd drives so it would be a bugger since I dont have any other games than backups

this can be done now, it just requires a little soldering work.

Can someone help me with this question.  Google is not helping me it seems, and I am not a big hardware guru.

Looking to see if I can put XBReboot on my Elite.  The power supply shows a Jasper plug.  The chip next to the hard drive sata is a Hynix HY27US08281A.

The question is what size is that?  Is that the 16mb or is it the 256/512 one.

Thanks

Edit: Just read that all elites are 16mb.  So I guess that answered my question.

Double Edit:  OH SNAP!  error 0031   Shiny New Paperweight for warduke!

how did you get the error mate? bad solder job or something ?
invest in some desoldering braid and a solder sucker if thats the case and take ya time and pray

ok for anybody who is attempting to dump the liteon firmware with the newly released info that involves soldering and cutting traces...I suggest you use this guide rather than using MRA's guide because the pads are very sensitive....I found out the hard way and soldering to the pin 101 is a frigging nightmare.. be careful guys.

and dont do it if you havent got a clue get somebody capable to do it for you or you will end up in tears

the good news about it is, it works on all known liteon's and you can get a full firmware dump now, which means you can revert back to OFW for modders this is like a dream good luck guys. i've dumped 2 drives using this and bricked another 1...but oh well that was my practice drive.

I should have updated again as I fixed it.  Turned out to be solder splatter on a section of the motherboard.  Barely noticeable.  All good now though.

Just waiting for the XBReboot to work on my xbox(banned via fall update)
