Hmm. Have you tried switching out your ethernet cable/port on your router? That could be the issue. Other than that, I can't say. The ethernet port on your 360 could be going bad. That's always a possibility.

it better not be going bad i got a new one back from ms, im going to reset my router and see if that helps me

Edit: think ive fixed it

Hey all, so i decided to finally get of my ass and update my xbox 360 with a new firmware.. its currently on ixtreme 1.4, its a hitachi 0047DJ, my question is.. has 1.6 been released for hitachi? or should i just update to 1.51? also, how do i do it with jungleflasher, heard that its rather easy but ive never used it so

#1167743 by unknown[242393] at 2009-08-05 05:58:04 (3 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

iXtreme 1.6 has not yet been released for Hitachi drives (unless it happened and it wasn't announced... to anyone, including Xbins). The newest version for your drive is 1.51, as you stated.

I read this on xbox-scene.net .. it seems a full hack is going to be released. but the new update will render the hack useless so don't update for now!

Free60: Dangerous Xbox360 Update Killing to-be released Homebrew Hack
>> We received this news from Felix Domke and Michael Steil at the Free60 Project:
[QUOTE]
On Tuesday, Microsoft has released an Xbox 360 software update that overwrites the first stage bootloader of the system. Although there have been numerous software updates for Microsoft's gaming console in the past, this is the first one to overwrite the vital boot block. Any failure while updating this will break the Xbox 360 beyond repair. Statistics from other systems have shown that about one in a thousand bootloader updates goes wrong, and unless Microsoft has a novel solution to this problem, this puts tens of thousands of Xboxes at risk.

It seems that this update is being done to fix a vulnerability already known to the Free60 Project. This vulnerability has been successfully exploited to run arbitrary code, and a complete end user compatible hack has been in development for some time and is planned to be released on free60.org shortly. It will allow users to take back control of their Xboxes and run arbitrary code like homebrew applications or Linux right after turning on the console and without the need of a modchip, finally opening up the Xbox 360 to a level of hacking as the original Xbox.

Because of the dangerousness of the update and the homebrew lockout, the Free60 Project advises all Xbox 360 users to not update their systems to the latest software version. The Project website at http://free60.org/ will provide the latest information on this ongoing topic, including the final hack software.

Free60 (www.free60.org) is a project that aims to enable Xbox 360 users to run homebrew applications and operating systems like Linux on their consoles. The effort is headed by Felix Domke and Michael Steil, who have a background in dbox2, Xbox and GameCube hacking, and who have spoken at various conferences about their findings. Two years ago, Free60 released a hack that allowed arbitrary code execution using a game ("King Kong Hack") as well as an adapted version of Linux, but this possibility has been disabled by Microsoft in subsequent updates of the Xbox 360 software.

Felix and Michael have repeatedly argued that game console manufacturers should open up their platforms to Linux and homebrew, similar to what Sony has done with the PlayStation 3.

Can anybody give me link how to burn 360 games correctly. I've been searching for one, but all of them use different ways, so I'm not sure which one is the best way.

1.) Download cloneCD
2.) Make sure the .DVD looks like this
LayerBreak=1913760
nameofISO.img
3.) Click burn, select the .dvd file, oh and the lower speed while burning the better!

What price is it likely to fall to ? It's gonna be a bit of a kick in the teeth for sony following thier price cut and release of the slim ! :-)

#1175622 by unknown[9089] at 2009-08-26 13:54:20 (3 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

I dunno tbh, have not looked into it much but I expect they will follow sony and drop £50

I cant see there being a 360 slim for a long time, there struggling to cool the damn think now with the large case let alone a smaller one.

but yeah at a guess I would say they will drop £50, did hear about them phazing out the arcades but not sure if thats confirmed or anything yet.

They are getting rid of the Pro SKU in the US (I haven't heard about elsewhere). The Elite is going down to $299.99 USD. Assumptions are that they're getting ready for the Natal release and new SKU with it.

in the uk the price has fucking went up !!!

I have hard drives and hd cables from the fucking 360`s I had in the past so I was going to be buying an arcade, and expected the price to go down.

but what do I see ?

the price for the arcade has went up !

retarded and very annoying.

Apparently they are raising the prices due to the continued bad performance of the pound. Accessories are also going up a few pounds each. You might see some good bargains if they start phasing out the Pro over here too.

I got all the accesories available already, all I wanted was to buy an arcade at a cheap price.

no matter what, this is a kick in the balls for me and I just find it very retarded.

The average joe will walk into a shop and think, didnt that used to be £130 ? why on earth is it now £160 ?

the average joes does nto give a shit about anything other than the clear cut fact they have made the arcade (cheapest 360 deal) more expensive.

I will not pay more for something when for the last god knows how long its been priced £30 cheaper and the exchange crap means nothing to me at the end of the day.

I just like many other consumers will simply see this for what it is, its a price increase.

I dont think the arcade will sell much now. Its still 190€ and the elite has gone down to 250€.

Confirmed.  I just got the email from Amazon today.  The news prices for the Elite, Pro, and Arcade systems are $299.99, $249.99, and $199.99 respectively.

Offical announcement of price drops

http://www.kotaku.com.au/2009/08/micros … 60-rumors/

also rumours of the elite being shipped with bigger HDD in future (i think it was 300gb drives)

#1176705 by unknown[242393] at 2009-08-29 01:02:03 (3 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

The bigger HDD rumour was somewhat solidified because of an Amazon.com listing in Germany. (Joystiq)

Still no problems with playing on live with 1.6?

#1178210 by unknown[242393] at 2009-09-02 23:51:00 (3 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

Problems? I've not heard of any or experienced any. Everything's free and clear. The only major differences from 1.51 to 1.6 was the dumping via the 0800 method and one-shot boot mode. Pretty much everything else remained the same.
