Im not sure what you mean?

HDTV rips put on to dvd then played via the 360 on a 29'' crt?

If so then no
The 360's dvd player can only play dvd's @480p, not 720p or 1080i.
Also i dont think your crt will be capable of hd resolutions, only a very small number of crt tv's can.
I know samsung make them, but they are not cheap.

I just discoverd that the tv I baught about 6 months ago is not HD !

I have been looking at another TV and woudl like some oppinions from ppl who have the same tv or one with the same specs and an xbox 360 ..

the picture quality and colours are superb on sony rear projections , recent ones anyway ..

what I am unsure of is the resolution specs , are they good or bad ?

teh picture quality for dvd`s and tv will be good and I am happy with that aspect of it , the way it will run with xbox 360 is what I wanna know hehe

Well the ad says it supports 780p resolution and has HDMI connection, so all should be good in that area. Haven't seen 3LCD TV's in action myself though.

That TV is highly rated and probably the best dlP TV currently out (for the price). Check out the avforums for more info from people who own it.

I would stay well clear of those tv's sure they produce a great pic, but you have to be sitting directly infront of them. If not then the pic is shite,the viewing angle is crap.
I would advise you go to a sony centre or fenwicks and look at one in action. I personally dislike them.
The screen res is a little low for a tv of that size, my 23'' has the same res. One good point is that it will not have to upscale the 720p.
720P on a tv that size will not be quite as nice as on a 32'' or 42'', that set should be bale to upscale to 108oi also, but thats not very good for most games.

I would go for a Decent plasma or lcd.
For my games room I have the same tv thats in the 360 demo pods. The samsung LE23R41B fecking great little set.
If you after something bigger then its big brothers are rather nice also.

My current lower spect than the new one rear projection has a very wide viewing angle , I also dont move around too much when I watch movies or games anyway

My home cinema and games room is a perfect rectangle shape about 20 meters long and 5 meters wide and my sofa sits right bang infront of the tv set anyway

I woudl have totaly agreed with you untill I had got my last dlp tv and foudn the viewing angle , colours and sharpness were much improved over what they used too

I will take what you have said into account anyway m8 .. and was considering getting a smaller LCD tv but I dunno , I am a sucker for huge screens hehe

Am I still right in thinking that Rear projection are the best value per inch for tv`s ?

dave try linten audio, house of fraser and there is a good shop opposite the queen vic pub near the bowling alley

Have a look at the Sony KDF-E50A12U as mentioned it is meant to be excellent with the 360.

they are getting closer to cracking the 360.

apparently they are trying to disrupt the signal that checks for microsofts digital imprint on the disc.
if they do this the 360 will probably have to assume the disc is proper, if its digital check fails.

thus you will be able to play with a burnt copy.


any thoughts on this method?

It's more likely the 360 will assume the disc is not valid, if the check fails. That's how all copy protections work.
