Hi all i gonna change my room

here a word 2007 file with some easy construction.

hxxp://www.files.to/get/284191/2d16zhfjok

I have a small tv want a big lcd screen
And thinking of buying a xbox 360 and hacking it but i wanna know !

Is it posible to use msn on a 360 ? with a keyboard so i can chill chat with ppl  on my 360?

#949158 by unknown[9089] at 2008-05-28 20:09:51 (5 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

yes

its not like a fully fledged windows messenger that's on it but it will list all your messenger contacts and you can chat with them pretty easily with a keyboard if you want.

people on your msn contact list can see when your playing a game etc etc, its pretty cool if you use messenger allot.

would be great if you could do voice chat between messenger and xbox live but I don't think voice chat is possible yet.

ok then, thanks.

I'll play demos till the chip arrives within the coming 3 days .. hopefully

I was wondering  what will happen:
- if i applied arctic silver below the heat sinks instead of this thermal paste being reported to cause RROD?! saw some youtube videos claiming this will fix the RROD if you got one, and since it is now open waiting for the modding chip, i'd say hit 2 birds with one stone before closing it back together

- if i reversed the back fans  "or one of them" so that air goes INTO directly to the heat sinks "especially the GPU one", then spreading to exit the console from the sides.

Also, anyone got any idea how to reduce the temps with quick tips and tricks ?! ... as it  looks like the GPU chip is over heating above the normal levels.

i kinda opened it with unsuitable poking tools, so i left some noticeable marks on the inside plastic, anyone who'll open this console "who got a trained eye" will KNOW it has been opened before "even with the hair dryer warranty sticker trick", so, as i think my warranty is already voided, i am looking for an EASY, COOL, EFFICIENT MODD to overcome both heat and noise problems, any links?!

EDITED:
i tried the windows media center connection to the xbox 360 and it worked, but when i select a video file and try to play it i get the message that some codecs are not installed and i should bla bla bla ... how to fix this?!

EDITED again:
Is there a BEST way to burn xbox releases?! i've been over the internet and there seems to be many ways, also, is there something called live scan alert subscription service

I'm thinking about buying a 360 the thing i'm wondering is: Is a hdtv necessary? and should i buy a xbox with a 20gb hard drive and spend 50euro more then a xbox without a hard drive?

HDTV is no nessecary, and id buy the one with the 20gb hdd. Works out cheaper

is the hard drive only necessary for downloading demos and stuff? or is it for game updates too?

Anyway i'm thinking about buying a 360 arcade since i'm kinda low on cash atm, and i'll buy a hdd later when i get more cash. The 256mb memory card is it enough to store saved games?

Yeah pretty much, the HDD is for music, demos etc. XBL exclusive content (map packs etc)

The harddrive does help games in terms of load times since they can put a temporary cache on the harddrive when you're playing a game.

Hi all,

First of all  my question.
Is it possible to connect to xbox live using  ICS ( Internet Connection Sharing ).

My computer is connected wireless to my router. So far i shared my wireless connection to my network card ( Onboard, Asus P5B Premium Vista Edition,  Marvell Yukon 88E8001/8003/8010 PCI Gigabit Ethernet ) using ICS.
Plugged a ethernet cable from the network card to my xbox360.
I have set the Internet Protocol Version 4 and 6 to obtain a IP address automatically.

The network shows up as a "Unidentified Network" -> Acces " Local Only"
I am able to see my xbox360 in windows listed in my network.

When i am trying to test the connection of my xbox360 i don't get passed IP Address.

Anyone familiar with this?

Thanks in advance

if you mean can you use the lan ports on the back of your PC, one with you internet connection and then connecting your 360 to the other then yes but you will have to bridge the connections

#961213 by frankieafca (Power User) at 2008-06-23 18:47:40 (5 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

The thing im trying to do is get my xbox connected to xbox live through my pc, rather than plugging a cable directly from my router into the xbox or plug a wireless adapter in my xbox, so yeah, thats sort of what I mean. Now how exactly do I bridge these connections, though? If you could explain that I'd be a happy fellow, thanks in advance!

right basically how i done it was

went into my network connections, highlighted everything then right click and select bridge

hopefully it works for you, it did for me but then i noticed that i had NAT problems i couldn't connect to everyone and also my PC had to be on everytime i wanted to play my 360 in the end just decided to add a small 4 port hub next to my PC and no NAT problems

What exactly do you mean with "Highlighted everything". When i try to bridge the connection i get the following message "To create a Network Bridge, you must select at least two LAN or High-Speed Internet connections that are not boeing used by Internet Connection Sharing", so basically i have to disable the ICS so i can set up the bridge connection, although i don't know what u mean with "Highlighted everything" hihi

try just highlighting the 2 lan connections and bridging them

Done, Bridged my wireless connection to the LAN port. Now my xbox360 fails in receiving a IP Address. Anything i should configer to solve this?
Thanks for your time

I don't think the 360 does it(could be wrong), read on a few places that having a hard drive helps the GTA IV texture loading problems that a few people have been having because of that very thing, got a new hard drive the other day and it makes no difference.

Kinda wish now that the 360 did have a hard drive as standard, one of the few good things about the ps3 imo

being able to install games to a hard disk (gta, gt prologue etc etc on ps3) would only be a good thing, games could be bigger, load times could be faster and less wear and tear on the dvd drive.

Still tho, on the whole its not been a problem for the 360 but I reckon when microsoft announce there next console it will be announced as having a big hard drive as standard, maybe about 500gb.

even in say 3 years time I would say 500gb would probably be enough for a games console and by then the cost to microsoft to add hard drives of that size would surely be so small it would be silly not too.

I wonder, is it possible maybe to make a virtual drive, like deamon tools but one that emulates a benq 360 drive for example, install this on a sata hard drive, plug it into where the dvd drives goes in the 360 and boot games from iso on the hard drive ?

a crazy thought I just had and I am sure it would be extremely hard but in theory does anyone think this could be done ?

maybe have it where we have to hack the sata hard drive via the pc (dunno if that would be hard or easy) so the 360 recognises it as a 360 dvd drive, the only part I cant work out is how to select the game iso via the 360.

just a crazy idea that would most surely never work but there we have it and why not ! hehe

I would happily remove my 360 dvd drive in favour of a diy internal hard disk kind of thing, you could run 2 hard drives in the old xbox ffs hehe

someone would need to make a driver to represent a benq drive with ixtreme firmware already on the drive

possible i suppose but a lot of work

Old, but I didnt see any definite responses, so here goes--in case you still need them.

1.  Console ban.  You will still have full functionality offline though.
2.  Not yet.
3.  No.
4.  Some games are available before official release date.  Self explanatory, I suppose.
5.  Silver allows you to go to xbox marketplace to do useless stuff.  Gold lets you play online with other players.
6.  Probably, but I cant think of anything.
7.  There are a lot of site, like xbox sky, blackcats, etc.  nfo will tell you if its properly patched, but you ca always double check yourself, with one of many programs.  Either way, the newest ixtreme wont boot the game unless its properly patched, for your protection.
8.  Not sure.  I just found a local guy from online who charged $20 to do it for me.

EDIT:  btw, as for your question about HDMI:  I play on a 65" LCD, and use component on 1080p since I cant use the optical out with HDMI.  Ive tried both though, and couldnt see any differences, even on sch a large screen.
