A flash wont remove any region locks, so you will be limited to NTSC and region-free games.

NTSC works fine on every modern PAL TV so you shouldn't have a problem, just remember you won't be able to play any original games bought in Sweden.

Hm,okay. No, original games are not to talk about, will download the games (have a few allready so..). So the only thing I need is a power-adapter?? (since US have like 110 Volt or something?)

Thx for the help btw

You will probably have to yes as my swedish machine only takes 200-240V input.

Hi all,

I recently downloaded Devil May Cry 4 for my X360, I burned onto the same media I always use in the usual way. That went fine.

I then put the disc in my X360 and the dash said it needed to be updated, I selected yes. My X360 restarts and then a screen appears saying it could not do the update. I could only restart the conole. Once it started again, DMC4 started working...?

Can anybody explain what happened? Why didn't my dash get updated?
Could it be that I need to update the iXtreme firmware?

Another question I may have asked, or has already been answered is; can you play HD movie rips (e.g. 720p 4.33 GB ones) that have been burned onto DVDR media, in like a data disc format?

Thanks for reading.

Probably.  Most new games install some kind of small update.

I have not updated my X360 with the recent update in Dec 2007, I figured DMC4 was doing that. When it didn't work I was a bit confused.

WMV rips: ando, thanks for the reply. I remember the Dec 07 update mentioning DiVX playback capability, if i stuck a DVDR with some DiVX rips in dirs, you think it would work?

I'm assuming that because you said WMV rips, the x264 encoded ones available on TB won't work.

Blu-ray Xbox 360 Planned By Microsoft as Early as May?
>> From smarthouse.com.au:

Quote:

Rumours were circulating today that Microsoft is set to dump HD DVD and bring out a Blu ray Xbox 360 by as early as May 2008.

Insiders at Microsoft in the USA have told SmartHouse that Microsoft have already configured a standalone Blu ray player that can be connected into an Xbox 360 and that subject to internal marketing and sales approvals the model could be on sale within 3 months.

The Company has also been working on a built in Blu ray player however insiders are claiming that Microsoft see the HD format battle moving online with consumers offered 1080p movie and content files as a download as opposed to having to buy a HD or Blu ray DVD.

Apparently everybody is ditching hd-dvd.  Seems like a new article at xbox scene everyday confirms it.

#902505 by unknown[9089] at 2008-02-18 21:15:44 (5 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

yep, hd-dvd is dead.

Long live blueray ! hehe

#905523 by unknown[216785] at 2008-02-25 00:27:57 (5 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

I'm not going to adopt either... neither of them are really that viable, for movies the few HD-DVDs and Blu-Rays I've watched are equally impressive, and for backups/burning/anything else they both suck, so not ready to start putting Blu-Ray anything in my PCs that I build at work or even at home.

I am interested in the one the guy mentions in the video I linked above these pics, the one that will most likely be the same size as dvd players, amps and recievers etc etc.

I would like to be able to decide on how my console looks, enjoyed sticking led`s and shit on my old xbox hehe looks much better now

anyone else consider one of these ?

#910903 by unknown[24504] at 2008-03-05 10:33:54 (5 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

It looks alot better than the original prototype, but since its lian-li its probably more expensive than the console itself.

Redmond (WA) - The power of Blu-ray is so intense that Microsoft has even begun talking to Sony about possibly incorporating the technology into the Xbox 360.

The Financial Times reports that Sony Electronics president Stan Glasgow disclosed information about the talks although Microsoft will not confirm anything.

Microsoft decided long ago to support HD DVD in the high definition format war, but Blu-ray ended up swallowing the competition. Now all former HD DVD supporters, including Microsoft, have jumped ship.

We recently asked Xbox 360 and Xbox Live group project manager Aaron Greenberg if there was the possibility of a Blu-ray add-on in the future. He said, "We have nothing to announce at this time."

According to the Financial Times, the talks concern either creating a separate add-on for Xbox 360 Blu-ray playback or incorporating a Blu-ray drive directly into future versions of the console.

Meanwhile, the Xbox 360 HD DVD add-on is availabe at retail stores for as low as $50 and at some official online retailers for around $30.

Now that its over I can finally buy a Bluray.  My only problem with the add-on is that id rather not put all that extra wear on my 360.  I dont want it to fail too soon.

No, theres never safe to go online with a flashed console. Eventually you can enjoy some time on live until microsoft finds you and bam banhammer.

#918689 by ugri (Power User) at 2008-03-22 02:45:55 (5 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

So that ban, is it based on console serial number or some shit like that.

As in if I get banned with flashed box with and dedicated profile, can I flash it back to the original firmware and use profile that I've paid live time on.. live ? <- sounded stupid but I'm very bad at explaining stuff

#918889 by Aterlatus (VIP) at 2008-03-22 15:23:26 (5 years ago) - [Quote] - [Report]Top

Bans the box - you can use another box with the same profile, but that box will never see the light of live again.
